How do I get an controller to work with the game?

I turn on the controller before I start the game but the game doesn't recognize it. Any tips? I have an Xbox 360 controller.

Try connecting it before you start Steam. Mine detects the XBox 360 controller automatically for Bit.Trip Runner, so I don't know what you're doing wrong. Check that the drivers for the controller are installed too.

Otherwise, you could make a note of the controls from the menu, and use xmapper to create a preset for the game, that way you could still use the controller for this game.

as long as your controller is pluged in before you start the game you should be good, if you are useing OSX or Linux you will need to download a driver for the controller.

I'm using a PS3 controller together with the DS3 Tool that emulates as if my PS3 controller is an XBOX 360 controller. It works like a charm for every game.

Only the Xbox 360 d-pad works with this game (for me anyway). So if you're just trying to use the thumbstick and it seems not to be working, try using the d-pad.

I have some problem with my pad (is a ps2 pad, I connect it with an usb adaptor) it allways worked with all the game I played (Pid, Elsword, SCB etc) but it looks like it don't work with this game at all... Anyone can help?

I haven't seen any of these problems before, but I'm using a totally generic Logitech USB controller, so I can't say anything about the others.

well I fixed the problem using a joypad to keyboard mapping tool, but yeah, till now is the only game that gived me problem.

I have the same problem, but it's with my ps4 controller. I'm using my (phone) charger to connect it.
