1. I do love the "chip" shoot in Sociable , in SWOS there was only one button which of course was cool but ... trust me when you learn this chip ...
2. Although we have never seen the online multiplayer, i believe it's an ass kick feature compared to Sensible Soccer.
3. Career mode! Sensi gets lots of votes because of this! And as it appears, there's no any career mode in the roadmap for sociable ... at least not any time soon!
4. Game Play! Sensi wins! But Sociable looks promising, REALLY PROMISSING!
5. Graphics. I really dont give a ♥♥♥♥ for this. If I did I would be playing Fifa or PES but who cares about graphics. It's not hollywood here, but it's gaming! Gameplay rocks!
6. Curly shots! Equal score here , both have it ,both love it!
7. AI: If there was a way for Sensi to play a demo game vs Sociable the score who have been , at least 12-0 ! Sociable looks a 4 year old kid playing at the park - whereas Sensi is damn Messi.
Of course, this free-mode pulling backwards was amazing! Still is - you can achieve it in quite a few ways, like keep pushing the button. But chipping it's a little bit difference - it's "actual chip" not a long pass.
Actually, i love to have so many ways to kick the ball, especially the chip one. When the AI and other aspects of the game starts to improve those kicking skills will become even more great to use.
The lob button is better for shorter/weaker high passes, something you *COULD NOT* do in Sensi/SWOS
But no career mode means we wont get these Reserve or Trial players become 12M players like in Swos which makes me really sad. It was fun to base upon these players and change the tactics for them... This was the nostalgia and this game lacks of it.
But with the career mode written off already, I think this game will go dead eventually unfortunately, without really setting its mark.
AND I REALLY HOPE I AM MISTAKEN IN THE ABOVE!!!
Why? Beacuse even though the devs put emphesis on the game coming to it's right with multiplayer (which I agree, it does), the only option right now is local multplayer. And local multiplayer is just not suffcient these days, for a game to survive and grow. I hope it was, but it just isn't.
Which is why i think, that cutting multiplayer from early access has been a big mistake.
If you did that, singleplayer should at least have been entertaining, and it really isn't when you win every match played easily, and with a very high goal difference.
And with the numbers sitting at this, I don't believe the online multiplayer scene will be sufficient, even though I acknowledge the fact, that the game hasn't been released yet, and these numbers could change dramatically (hopefully):

Finally: If you are remaking Sensi, which it has been said many times in different occasions, that it is the essence of this project, then why trying to distance the game from it, at the same time ?
I don't get it.
Just put in the best of both worlds, and roll with it (updated graphics/gameplay + good old career mode).
Yes, maybe Sensis graphics could use an update, but to this day, it has outstanding playability and depth. And with the options you have today with Steam workshop etc. you would have the PERFECT platform for mechanics like this. You wouldn't even need to do the hardwork as a dev. Many gaming communitys have proven, that they manage this themselves.
At the end, I believe this games success is crucially dependant on how the "old" Sensi players feel about it. Will they see it as Sensis successor or not ?
The new players have moved on to FIFA and PES long time ago. FIFA and PES are their Sensi. I doub't they will look this way.
The competitions and career features remind me a lot of Sensi Soc, whereas a lot of peeps (me included, obvs), adore what became SWOS.
I'm loving the new game engine, and the main 'feel' of the game seems to work well in 2017. I'm guessing the big 'if' is whether peeps younger than 30 get into it or not. And I honestly don't know if the fun I'm having playing is from "trip down memory lane / rose tinted", or whether it's just a bloody fun game.
It's well known that it's been a struggle to recapture the Sensi Soccer 'feel' on modern machines, with the updated versions of the game in 3D. But this game - although a touch rough around the edges in places, does feel like it could be the 'new' Sensi Soccer v1.0.
But to anyone reading - I am having a great time with Sociable Soccer.
Oooo, when I did it I hadn't noticed that, I'll have to keep trying. I totally agree the lob button is fantastic for short range 'chip over player'. Scored a cracking goal from edge of the area, chipping over the keeper.
The footie's more like SWOS (curve for on-the-floor passes), but with the Sensi Soccer features. Competitions and the like, no Career mode.
But it will have online play. So online play, and SWOS footie = massive win imho.
What scares me the most is many ppl including me like SocSoc cause it reminds us of Sensible but as someone already mentionned, will the game seduce players below 30 y/o? The question remains and considering they have been used to play more "realistic" soccer games, I doubt they will get the same pleasure as we do. Therefore, I think devs should try to work on adding a more realitic feeling to the game, including (and yes I know I will shock some of you) slightly slowing down the game speed by adding kick animations, control animations, possibility to make some fancy dribbles. Otherwise, I fear the game will never get enough players to pay for the tech and game support cause let's not forget the main purpose of SocSoc is to be an Online game and this has a cost. As a current player of FreeStyle Football which will close mid-December after not even a year on Steam for not meeting the Business Model requirements, I don't want to see that happening again to SocSoc...
The AI must play in an natural way.
I think it's better for Sociable soccer when not too much players of this so called realistic games like fifa comes too Sociable soccer....Then you discuss more about boots and hair colours in this forum in the future.I don't know if you want this...
