What about the controler???
Hi,
I cannot wait for the release of this game as I am a big time fan of Sensible World of Soccer.
Endless hours playing on my Amiga 500 back in the day.

But what about the controller? How is the game with the mousepads of today?

I miss the joysticks with the buttons on them. I used to use the Sega Master System joystick on the Amiga 500.

It's much better to play with such a joystic. You know the one with the stick on the right, and the buttons on the left.... not the flight sim ones.

I found it much better to control these fast pased top down view games. Best way to use after touch and all.

I did manage to play Speedball 2 when it was released again using a logitech gamepad, and even though I could play ok, it didn't feel the same.

We need those old joysticks released again.... I think that it's the only way to fully enjoy the game.

Might have to purchase a DIY kit and build my own joystick... there are some people that actually make them too. Like the fighting arcade sticks

I hope steam controllers get a decent support. I bought three to end the console controller support mess concerning my old ps3 Controllers and Im really disappointed so far

look at my link...

Yes thanks for that. I have seen these actually and I think you can get the stick on either left or right hand side.

I would love one.

I've seen on the preview video that the view changes in the game. Playing side view is easy with the logitech controller/pad I have. But classic top view only works with a stick.

I've got two USB Competition Pro sticks. You could possibly use that, depending on how many buttons are in use.

i wanted to open new topic, good i saw this one, because i am 100% sure joysticks are best for this type of game. Im planing to buy this one: Joystick LOGITECH Extreme 3D Pro USB.

Can someone from sociable soccer tell me could i play with this joystick ( or any other joystick, i hate gamepads ) ?

I'd imagine that as long as your stick supports DirectX, it's probably going to work just fine (afaik all modern Logitech controllers are DirectX controllers). The game has "Full Controller Support" listed on its Steam page, which should mean, that it's AT LEAST 100% compatible with DirectX controllers. If your stick is DirectInput only, then it might be, that it won't be supported, but most games do support DirectInput also as for example DualShock4, which is quite popular controller, and other PS4 controllers too read as DirectInput on PC.

Just to clarify that's 'x input', not directx which is to do with graphics rendering.
