There are the rest of the MYST serie, if you like. Only Riven in on Steam though. If it's the puzzles you like, you might like 7th Guest, but it lacks the exploration aspects. Beyond Atlantis is another one that had great puzzles and exploraiton, and is one of my favorites. (The soundtrack is beautiful too.) I know there are more Atlantis games that you might want to check out, but I've never played any of them.

The Adventure Company makes point-and-click puzzle games, but truth be told none of them are very good and some of them are down right awful. But if you need a point-and-click puzzle game fix, they tend to be five bucks at stores like Staples. Lighthouse and The Messenger were decent enough and worth the five bucks.

The problem with most of these games is that very few, if any, of them are on Steam. You might take a look at Miasmata or Dream on Greenlight.
I hate to break it to you, but Myst is a one of a kind gem.
There are none that can match the sense of discovery, accomplishment, that feeling of mystery and the unknown as Myst gave us.

Play Riven and Myst 3. Myst IV and V were horrible (NO QUICKTIME MOVIES! xD)

I mean, there are good adventure/mystery/puzzle games that come close, but none as good as it. This is the BEST puzzle game. Beats everything hands down.

BUT BUT BUT. I found a game a long time ago that reminded me of Myst. It also felt like Myst, but it was in the real world. The Omega Stone. It was the sequel to some game called Riddle of the Sphinx which I heard was some crappy bullcrap. Just play this one.
Trust me, it doesn't hit home near as close as Myst did, but it is a good thing to play when you're bored of the Myst series... which will be never.... screw what I just said and just play Omega Stone now.. It was good.

I actually didn't think that Myst IV (Revelation) was that bad. It's definitely V that is my least favorite (and least played) of the series. Probably because of the completely different storyline that only makes sense if you've done your research on the series (and, for that matter, the entire Myst mythos, including Uru) beforehand.

@FWG: I can't speak for The Omega Stone, but as someone who has played Riddle of the Sphinx, I can agree in that it is not something I'd recommend. Not only did it randomly crash and corrupt my saves it was just... not very good. I hope the Omega Stone is better!

I always like the Journeyman games from Presto Studios- 2 & 3 are available on GOG for 6 bucks a pop as of this writing. It's got a completely different tone than Myst but that didn't stop them from giving me some of my best (also earliest) PC gaming memories.

I'll definitely second LazyFly's recommendation of the Journeyman series.

I really love "The Fool's Errand." It's not at all the same as Myst, but it's an old old favorite of mine. It has puzzles, it has lovely silhouette artwork stills, and a story which is based on the Tarot. It was made for Mac so I had to download some program which turned my PC screen into a Mac screen before it worked, but it's very fun. As I said, it's very old (no 3d graphics or movement or anything), but it has the same satisfaction of solving things and getting parts of a story revealed.

A mysterious Journey - Schizm
is one of the most amazing puzzle-games i have played and is to me on par with Myst, both in graphics as in it's challanging puzzles. (the answer might be well on the other site of the large myst scaled map (though fast transport is possible :) *
and has different storylines you can follow. even multiple worlds!.

A Definite advice to anyone who likes Myst like challenges for the brain and beauty for the eye.
All i hope if for a worthy *grahpics / fantasy again* follow up!.

I agree with the poster who said 7th Guest, but Myst is more in depth and complicated then 7th Guest. Though, 7th guest is still fun and a good way to pass the time when you're bored. I don't think steam has it though.

Another game for me personally, which I used to play years ago, is: Timelapse. http://www.adventureclassicgaming.com/index.php/site/reviews/116/

Mind you, that this was released in 1999, and it will not be easy to find a copy of this game (unfortunately) I'm lucky to still have the original disks :P

I would recommend the Rhem series and the Siberia series. I played them many years ago though so I'm not sure if you can find them anymore.

I hope this doesn't count as bumping... but I really enjoy Physicus. It's a... very interesting puzzle game that I find is a lot like Myst. Very pretty backgrounds/artwork and some interesting reality-based puzzles.

Hope this doesn't count as thread necromancy, but you could try Lighthouse: The Dark Being. One of the hardest and most interesting puzzle games I've ever played. I challenge you to get through that game without using a walkthrough at any point.

My goodness. Lighthouse is amazing. I'm amazed to see someone else recommend it :O

I'll have my eyes out for a digital Lighthouse: The Dark edition :)
hope to give that game a try.

on another note:
i heard there is a kickstarter / paypal donation for the follow up on Myst (Dreamfall / dream) is the name
