Myst ME doesn't work on Apple Silicon
Myst doesn't work on a Macbook Air M1, The following error appears at runtime:
“Myst.app” is damaged and can’t be opened. You should move it to the Trash.
I tried reinstalling it a few times. I tried running it manually. The Intel binary is not compatible with either M1 or Ventura. The MacOS compatibility logo should be removed for this game.

Hi BirdOfChaos,
We've checked this and this solution was tested and works:

Right click on the game in your Steam library.
Select Manage->Browse Local Files.
Right click on the app itself and select Open.
A small dialog with an Open button will appear.
Click 'Open' and the game will launch.

Following these steps, the game will launch and run normally from the Steam library's "PLAY" button from now on.

This did not change anything for me. Still same problem

That's very odd. It's worked for all the other players who've tried it (that Cyan Support has heard from, anyway).

Please email support@cyan.com for more help with this. Thanks!

I was able to solve this (MacBook M1 Pro Max / Sonoma) and play the game by doing the following (see new lines > inserted to the above instructions):

Right click on the game in your Steam library.
Select Manage->Browse Local Files.
***
> Right click on the app itself and select Get Info.
> Unlock the app using the lock in the lower-right corner of the Myst Info panel
***
Right click on the app itself and select Open.
A small dialog with an Open button will appear.
Click 'Open' and the game will launch.

Any hope that the game receive proprer notarization so we don't have to do these manipulations in the future ?

The steps included in this thread to work around this issue should only need to be performed once and then the game will open correctly going forward.

If you run into further issues, please email support@cyan.com to report them to Cyan directly and provide more information. Thanks!
