Try verifying the game cache;
Right-click on the game in your Steam library, select properties, select the local files tab, and click “Verify Integrity of game cache”. If that does not work I would try reinstalling.
If the still does not work try using compatibility mode.
[whatever drive you have it on C for most people] -> Program Files [It might be Program Files (x86)] - Steam -> steamapps -> common -> URU. That could be entirely wrong depending on where you installed it to, but basically you have to find the URU folder. Within that folder, find the application. It should end in .exe. Right-click it and select properties. Click on the compatibility tab, try setting it to win xp service pack 2, if that does not fix the problem also try vista and me. Windowed mode also can help.
If all those fail I would contact Cyan support either by emailing them at support@cyan.com or creating an account and making a ticket at http://support.cyan.com/
If you do resolve the issue it may not be a bad idea to contact them anyway just to let them know about the issue.
Where can I check all of them?
It usually is already checked but sometimes is not.
Just checked additional updates and it found win xp 2005 service pack 1 and downloaded it but the same issue continues. I already filed a ticket to Cyan 2 days ago but still waiting for the reply. All other Myst games are working fine except URU
https://forums.cyan.com/viewtopic.php?f=83&t=1587
Just installed the widescreen patch. It's working good but graphical issues are still continues. I also re-installed the game many times but no luck
Try isolating it to one processor,
1. Under Steam Libraries Right click URU
2. Select Properties
3. Set Launch options
4. Type /affinity 1 (Affinity 1 is core 0 Affinity 2 is core 1 You can choose which ever one you want)
5. Select Ok
You should only need to do this once.
Sometimes the steam option fails to keep it isolated in which case you can try these steps;
Run the game, tab out and open task manager with crtl-alt-delete. Go to the processes tab and select URU.exe, right click it and choose "Set Affinity..." (note that if in windows 10 first right click go to details before right click set Affinity) Uncheck all the CPUs except for the first one, which should be CPU 0. You would need to do that everytime you play.
Try also disabling visual themes in the compatibility tab and see if that has any impact.
As a last option you can try installing either QuickTime version 4.1.2, QuickTime 6.5.2, or QuickTime 7.7.1 . Different version seem to work for different Myst games I have not heard of older versions of Quicktime being used for URU before so this last option would be much more experimental. You may need to place quicktime.qts into the URU folder if you try this one.
URU does not crash it's working good but it has graphical issues as I mentioned above. Cyan support didn't asnwer to my ticket btw.
I've set /affinity 1 argument and installed the quicktime but they didn't work. That weird white patches and white terrain are really annoying.
