1.) First thing you need to do is uninstall and remove all the files from the previous installation, if you use revo don't uninstall revo will do it as part of the process. Revo uninstaller is a good tool for doing that you can get that below, just unzip it and run it, its a no install go ahead and use the advance for the removal and delete everything it picks out. Otherwise go through the appdata and program files folder to remove the files and run a registry cleaner;

2.) go to my computer and right click on the disk and select properties. (the disk is usually the e drive but it can vary either way it should have the name of the game in the title)
3.) select the compatibility tab on the top(if the compatibility tab is not present exit and right click on the disk and select open, then search for a file ending in .exe that will be present in the opened disk, right click on this one and follow the same procedure.)
4.) set the compatibility mode to the latest version of windows that the game was listed as working with, don't forget to hit apply. In this case I recommend Xp sp2.
5.) double click on the disk(or the .exe file if the disk did not offer the compatibility option) run the installer as you normally would.
6.) after the game is installed right click on the launch icon, select properties and set it to the same options you used for installing the game. Click Apply
There may be further issue in which let me know what they are there is a solution for most of them. If you get a digital version of the game I would recommend the gog version over the steam version as they update their games to keep them more compatible with newer operating systems, may still have a few issue though, like steam they have sales I would suggest wishlisting it and set it to notify you when it goes on sale, you can likely get it for 75% off in either store;

URU live is back (sorta) right now the account creation is disabled so no new players can join. Otherwise whenever they get that back up it is free but users can donate to help support it. This is the mmo version of uru which for the most part is the same but gets new updates;

It is a bit out of my area of expertise if you need any help outside of the instructions given for installing them but the people on the forums they are listed on are generally quite happy to help there is also facebook groups as well;

Could you go over what you've tried so far? When you say it does not run do you mean that it does not startup at all? Did you use compatibility mode to when doing the installation and did you set it to launch for that same compatibility mode after it was done installing? What settings have you tried and did you uninstall it did were you sure to remove leftovers after the uninstallation?
Hope it is not too many questions, I just need to make sure I understand what is going on. I assume you mean Complete Chronicles when you say CC correct?
