Didn't happen soon enough for me. I got a refund.
I'm debating the same thing, I'm purposefully staying under 2 hours. I need to see some sign from the devs that they have a plan to deal with this.
I'm wondering if they still have their audio/music specialists on the team since the PS4 version has already come and gone.
What I find most frustating is that lack of concrete info on whether this was the intended mix, or not. Irrespective of the length of time a patch, ( if any) would take, some official confirmation or denial of the mix being intentionally altered, would be welcome.
Anyone know if the PS4 had remixed audio?
They're using the Rez - Gamer's Guide to... (2002) remix of the music rather than the original soundtrack!
This is a terrible decision, it sounds totally different!
You can hear that the stab introduced in layer level 02 is missing a delay and reverb effect:

Awesome, thanks for putting that together. Is that an emulated PS2 or did you capture some a/v from actual hardware?
EDIT: Just brought up the PS4 version, and it has the same problems as the Steam version.
>>> somebody else's ps4 recording
It may be hyperbole, but this has ruined some of the most memorable moments in the game :( It's also sad to see that the same issues existed in the PS4 version months ago, so I doubt they'll be a fix any time soon, if ever. I very much hope to be proven wrong though. God speed Monstars Inc.
In my opinion, the game audio/mix as is, thoroughly diminishes the Rez experience (particularly if you have played the original Dreamcast/PS2 releases.)
Is it confirmed that the PS4 release sufferd from the same mix issues?
You guys are so funny, seeing problems everywhere even when there isn't any...
I played ALL the Rez version since Dreamcast, and this game as a great audio. Stop whining for nothing.
Yes there is some mix issues, but that's all.
You can look up gameplay videos on youtube and see for yourself. I looked up an Area 01 PS4 playthrough and it has the same issues as the Steam release.
