Myst series books worth it?
Are the Myst books worth reading? They got okay reviews I guess.

I really enjoyed them and think they enhance the games but stand on their own just as well. I recommend the published order; Book if Atrus, Book of Ti'ana, and Book of D'ni. My personal favorite is the Book of D'ni. I think it best to read them after playing through Myst and Riven, but before URU and Myst V.

I just finished Myst. As a kid when it came out I was too young to appreciate the puzzles. Now I was blown away by the game. I didn't get the 30rd Anniversary edition, I got the normal version but felt the graphics didn't really affect how much I enjoyed the game. The setting of the island is so amazing. I just got Riven and it looks amazing. Especially at night.

I ordered Book of Atrus today. I hope to learn more about the characters.

I think you will really like it. I do think it gives the best experience to complete Riven first before reading Atrus. Reading Atrus first gives away some of the mystery of Riven.

Agreed Real Myst does pretty up the game a bit but not enough to warrant buying it over the original version, or what remains of it after being reconfigured for Steam or Gog and win 7 thru 10.

I bought the 10th anniversary in 04 because it included Riven and Exile completely hooked from that point on

Yea if I could afford an Oculus set I would get it just to be able to play Myst VR lol

I will first finish Riven before starting The Book of Atrus.
