audio from certain parts missing

I get audio for almost all of the game (including music), but certain parts are not there. For instance, when I open the red and blue books in the library, you can see the video of the brothers but no sound. Also, in the mechanical age, I think there is supposed to be sound from the rotation of the dome, but I hear none.

I reinstalled quicktime and installed the Indeo codec. I have already set the compatibility to XP SP2 and set it to run without T&L.

Any ideas?

It soundsl like you would have already tried this but if not try reinstalling it.
