Saya: What happened at the end?
Figured I'd start the first thread in this subforum. :selphinehappy:

Saya's storyline for me is both one of the harder-hitting storylines in Little Busters, but also the one most open to interpretation. Did she die after that long adventure with Riki? Did Kyousuke (who is very obviously Tokikaze Shun) tell Riki the truth and that Saya travelled back to her childhood? Did the "School Revolution" ending become the reality for a different world? Or perhaps something else?

Discuss. :bern:

I believe she actually did traveled back to her childhood and is alive in the real world.

First, Kyousuke himself told Riki that she traveled back in time. In the final scenes we can see Saya waking up realizing she's in the past, and remembering everything what happened.

Now let's fast forward to the common route. (Spoilers to Sasami route)

To get to Sasami's route the events that happen in common route actually takes place in the real world from my understanding(all the stuff that trigger the black cat event, it won't make sense for these events to happen in the fake world and actually affect Sasami's route, Riki also mentions those events with the black cat happened in the real world). During this real world common route you actually encounter Saya! Hence I believe with her memories she managed to avoid the event of the landfall.

IMHO Kyousuke might actualy believe that Saya had fulfilled her wish and had passed away. He might only tell Riki the story with the time machine because he didn't want Riki to learn about her death.

When she was leaving the fake world, her consciousness returned to her back in the times when she was in Japan as child. Maybe as a result of her wish to go on date with Riki. But she doesn't remember clearly events from fake world or future because she is talking about them as if they were dreams. I think the question whether she will or won't survive the earthquake is left unanswered. She might remember about earthquake or get some "bad feeling" and avoid it or might not remember and die.

Also i think that the earthquake happened at same time as the LB's accident and that's why she is in their fake world. She was the one who created the first version of labyrinth but the fake world can be created or manipulated only by those who are near death. If she died before the LB's accident she couldn't be brought back and build the labyrinth. If she was alive then she might be in that fake world but she again wouldn't be able to build the labyrinth.

The most logical version is that she wakes up back to her first time in japan when she played soccer with some kid and his friends, just so that after the dream waking up in that time she realizes that the guy is Riki who she saw in the dream of her future. She will still die a terrible death. Kyousuke's interpretetion sure sounds beautiful, but doesn't really prolong her life expectancy.
PS: sry for necro, but this part of the forums is kinda dead.

Sorry for replying so late, but I'm going to leave this here for anyone else that might be curious about why Saya's route ended the way it did. I will keep it short as to not give away to much. Basically what happened was that the world that she and Riki were in was not real, it was a dream world. The scene of her as a child where she is laying on the ground passing out is where the real world and dream world split. when she kills herself in the dream world she wakes back up in the real world, back with her father and Riki (Who just so happened to be her childhood friend along with the rest of the Little Busters as she mentioned she used played ball with a group of kids), with all her memories of the dream world and with Riki still intact, her route ends with her running outside yelling Riki's name.

If you check your gallery there will be an image of Saya grown-up holding Riki's hand hanging out with the rest of the Little Busters, as she has become a Little Buster herself back in the real world.

I did Konata and Sasami before Saya and I didn't see her on October 23rd, after the events in refrain. She never appeared until I attempted to get the notebook in the classroom when starting her route. If she appears after I finished all the routes it would make it more confusing, it would mean it would be dream world, but the cats dream when there shouldn't be yet (I think there was a lapse outside the main world and into the cat world)? which means the Cat saw Saya as a figment of his memory and somehow important to granting his wish.
Saya's route is darkness, Kengo is more correct to label this world as such instead refrain. I was really hoping Rikki would save her, and keeping to key's themes would make sense, but it feels more like a Koshiki end. I guess it's like how Kengo would feel that Rikki fell into his shoes spiritually speaking. Stockholm syndrome vibes with Kyousuke in this route in particular. It's shame I had to feel animosity to him yet again even though I choose not to shoot him.
why did he wanted to treat his favorite manga character that way to begin with? Jealousy?
