Kanon, Angel Beats! and Rewrite

I'm looking to get this, Planetarian and Clannad sometime soon, but is there any chance of localization for Kanon, Angel Beats! and Rewrite? I've watched every anime adaptation of all of these (and Air but it didn't move me in the same way TBH) and I'd personally love to see at least Kanon in the west but even better if they all got translated.

Well, strictly speaking Kanon and Rewrite are already translated (just not offiicially). Kanon is pretty old and pretty short so I dunno if it would be worth the investment. From what I understand, English versions of Angel Beats and Rewrite are already in development.

I can see Rewrite and Angel Beats getting to steam eventually, but I can't imagine Kanon or Air getting the same, those games are too old and won't appeal to the modern consumers. Unless Key will go out of their way and redraw them which is highly unlikely considering that they are already busy with working on a completely new title.

Key stated awhile ago with the Rewrite anime that they want to directly release the new version, Rewrite+, on steam. Don't bother with the anime. There was no hope of doing it right, anyway, but it was absolutely butchered. That being said, you lose out on Mappie with the anime, and that's a modern tragedy.

Angel Beats was announced for the west last year. It should be getting here shortly.
It will be churned out in episodes (6 or so in total) each one a year apart if we take localization time into account. If we are lucky we'd be able to get the second episode right after Japan. but it will still be a 4 year wait for the rest of the episodes to get here.
As for Rewrite, English version is already in progress. It will be released with extra content just like LitBus. The Fandisc: "Harvest Festa" which is a set of romantic stories with Rewrite's heroines is also planned for the west.

Sekai Project are handling Rewrite+ for an official release. Rewrite+ is the defintive version of the story and also includes the fandisc. You'll likely be waiting a while.

Angel Beats has a translation planned but there are no solid details yet. Now that Little Busters is out they may now start working on it.

Kanon probably won't get translated. It's too old and it's art is clearly dated compared to their newer titles. Only the diehards would be interested and many of them have already played the fan translation.

Thanks for the insight everybody. I had a feeling Kanon would be a doubt, but I'm glad progress is being made with the others. I want to support all parties involved with Key's so they can continue making their beautiful stories, so I hope I can afford them all real soon.

If they were to be sold I would buy all of them. I have nothing but respect for Key and their works. I am going for Clannad this December.

Rewrite+ is at 67% translation, 17% editing. It was only at 35ish% earlier this year, so progress is being made. you can monitor it's progress here:
