How to use the anomaly trap?

I found traps for the electrical anomalies, but how do I use them? Their description says to put them on the ground. When I hold my mouse over an electrical anomaly, the only option I have is to shoot it. I expected a second option which would let me use the trap, but it's not there.

Drag it out of the window like you do with all items(you probably don't do that though, because there's no space and weight limits in inventory). When anomaly sees it - it gets to it and dies. If you didn't use it - you can pick it up again.
Be careful at the doorways though - anomaly might get stuck forever, happened to me.


P.S.: Why don't you own the game on Steam including family access?! Is there another place selling it?

As @Ryuu said above - drag the trap from your inventory and set it on the ground. When an anomaly approaches the trap - the anomaly is doomed! :)

Thanks for your help. I would have never known this.

I don't own the game on Steam (yet) because my girlfriend found it on Big Fish or Game Fools (I forget which). She is playing it as part of her monthly all-access subscription. Once I figure out the game, I will likely buy it on Steam. It is a fun challenge.
