Unfortunately, not at the launch. We will see how it goes further, after the launch.
We can play 2 characters at first, might as well do co-op !
I do think the genre of game would lend itself to multiplayer. But honestly if it's half-assed and just the same game, with others.. i would hate it.
Singleplayer Master Race.
I understand where you're coming from. I can really appreciate it from a Splay perspective where content is king. I too value some games for their Splay content as well.
For a lot of Mplay gamers out there however, especially co-op oriented players, the layer of enjoyment that comes out of playing with a friend or a loved one is far superior to the actual content at times.
This game is one of those for me. I have watched a few videos on this game to know this would be a fun way to spend/waste a few quick hours with someone else, than to try to min/max and solve/survive to the utmost of my abilities this game.
I've played This War of Mine, and albeit not the same exact game play, it has many similarities. I've thoroughly enjoyed that game, but personally, I cannot find myself to replay it over and over without a co-op aspect of sorts. One or two playthroughs is enough to enjoy the content fully, before it really gets stale as a Splay game, and i'm off to the next game on my list.
Either way, seems like a fun game. If it stays Splay, I'll pick it up in a bundle or on sale eventually to kill some time and then let it sit and collect dust like the many other games in my collection.
If it gets Mplay i'll pick up a minimum of two copies even at full price to enjoy it with a friend or a loved one, and even if we get bored and set it aside, we may pick it up again in a few months and spend a few more hours on it on occasion.
I was just bringing it to the attention of the devs that I would appreciate the co-op aspect as well. If not, no hard feelings. I really hope this game gets the positive attention it needs, but personally, I will be holding off on a purchase for now, that would've otherwise been an instant full price impulse buy if it only had co-op.
I'll check back on the game development (if any extra content or updates) in a few months, see where the devs are heading with it.
Nailed it. Exactly why i am not getting it. No co-op. The game may be awesome but i want to enjoy it with someone else and not just alone.
Get a console.
