tips for maintaining influence in other colonies?

hi everyone, I’m a new player to the first cattails game and could use some tips. i know that battling is a main way to keep your influence up in other colonies, but are there any other methods to raise it? thanks for any advice!

there is lavender, (i think) a abillaty that gets more influence, and walking in areas, hunting, and doing stuff in areas
