Kittens' coat patterns?

I just had my first kitten. I know the game mixes your coat color with the spouse. But when does the game choose your coat pattern (Is it when I say "yes" to the spouse or whatever coat I have on the day they are born?) Also since you have multiple kittens, are you asked by your spouse to have kittens for each one, or just the once? Do you have the potential to change coats for a new look on your next kitten?

hi, im pretty sure it depends on your current coat. i did this with eyes and i went with my current eye color, also you can only have one litter per save, hope this was helpful

how many gifts you give to your spouse every day from when you were asked to day kittens are born is everything the amount of kittens depends on.0 gifts-1 kitten 2 gifts-2-3 kittens(entirely random) 3 gifts-3-4 kittens(entirely random) and when they are being born you are asked which mix of your color and color of spouse you want kittens to have. there are three options, each pelt color option comes with its own eye color from either parent. there can also be kittens with an eye of two colors, or two eyes each a different color! (i had 4 kittens in my main save. two had my eyes, one had an eye Scout's(i married Scout)eye color and one eye half my eye color,half Scout's and a kitten with one eye entirely my eye color, the other entirely Scout's)
Also if you change your fur color to another AFTER the kittens are born, their coats won't be impacted: it wont be the same exact mix but with new coat/eye color instead of the old. Which coat your spouse's coat will be mixed with for the kits depends ENTIRELY on what coat you have the moment they are born.

I gave Lyrus 3 gifts a day, and only have 2 kittens, so it is entirely random how many kittens you get. And, yeah, it's based on your current colors. Not the colors you had when you were asked for kittens.
