Does anyone know if they have tried to code multiplayer before? I just feel the game will get stagnant and fade into the aether if they don't try to go out of the box and out of their comfort zone.
Granted, I am no game developer so I have zero idea how hard it would be to do any of that. Just an eager fan that wants a game to succeed. :)
I don't know if theyve tried it before, and i agree the game will slowly fade away if they don't try to go out of their comfort zone, but I think multiplayer, while it'd bring the game more success, would be REALLY hard to code. You'd have to sync up the devices, etc etc. Shame it's probably going to disappear :(
Yeah the game might die if they don't try new things. I just don't think multiplayer is one of them (they mentioned how a team with experience is taking a few years to make Stardew Valley multiplayer)
Maybe it could be sort of multiplayer where you can send items and messages to other people?
That would be really cool!
i edited as soon as i posted)
edit: gruop chats would be kewl
in its most basic form, a messaging/trading system probably
ohhh ok
To prevent being beaten/bullied by those who played longer/higher skill level, have it where clans need to be a certain level to allow battle with others to keep newbies safe.
Or have a certain map tile a battle only tile for that day or so.
I would be sad to see such a cute game disappear, so I certainly hope it doesn't - I know I have lots left to do in it and will keep playing it every now and then!
The Co-Op/Multiplayer could be an expansion, or a stand-alone game yeah.
Just the same spirit!
(perhaps they could poke Stardew Valley's creators, or Terraria, and ask how those people did their coding? Might be possible to get some help there!)
