I played this on switch, the cats must have gender because one of the items i ended up with specifically meantioned it being appreciated by "male cats".

But if that is in the game, the NPCs still don't have a gender, and neither does the player

I looked into it, i must have misread it. The item was an emerald and it said "moles", not "males".

I've had kittens before in the game, i just imagined that they were stray kittens and we both took them in. It depends on what the player feels I suppose.

the cats do not have genders. There is no gendered language for your cat or any of the other cats you can marry as far as I know. I can't recall any at all. You can have kittens with any marriageable cat as well. It's all up to interpretation, or you can assume all cats are nonbinary. So both yes and no? With no gender binary, gay and straight become a little bit blurry

The genders are practically non exsistant in this game, so even if you made a male interprated character and marreid a male NPC, you could still have kittens.

in this world there are no genders and you can actually choose to not interact with any marriageable npcs so not only you can be gay if u wanna you can choose to not have kittens at all

also when you marry a cat you dont always HAVE to have kittens actually if you dont get the nursery(was that what it was called? i forgot lol)you CANT have kittens with your wife/husband.

I think that Robin is a girl, I also think my cat Forest is a girl, Robin and Forest are married and have four kittens that I like to think we just found somewhere, so I think you can, but you may have to use a bit of imagination XP
