- longer distances. this may require to step out of WW2 in order to bring in weapons for longer ranges, or not, after all, those rifles could go up to 800m (if i remember the spec correctly)
- missions where you have to decide between taking a (really) long-distance shoot but be protected or come closer and risk detection.
- more realistic view of how it looks through the scope (with the ground-heat blurring the vision etc.)
i'll try to think about more stuff :)
I would also like to see longer ranges. Some physics added as well like, weather, season changes because in Russia, there's an awful lot of snow season there. Thunder stroms and more.
and it would be nice if the crosshairs when not using the scope (rifle/pistol/MG) would point to the right place when the weapon recoils. so when you shoot a pistol and it recoils upwards the crosshairs will jump up and then re-settle to the previous position. likewise, with MG the drift is usually up and a bit sideways.
in other words - more realistic please.
and if we're talking different seasons or terrain, different suits would also be nice. especially if it affects on the enemy ability to see you from different ranges.
ps. even in WW1 they already knew to put something on the scope to hide the glint, so at least on SniperElite level I expect the enemy snipers to NOT have a glint off their scope.
indeed , plus , the complete host control , kick , ban , customize ...
I think to make Sniper Elite 3 the best game ever, is not to make the same mistakes that we already can find in all the other modern games.
What people like is a good connection, an easy way to kick or ban cheaters and other players who don't play by the rules.
- Multiplay matches should be accessible for at least 16 or more players without the annoying lag.
- There should be a possibility to setup dedicated servers with all the neccesary options/settings which all older games have, like kick, ban, server screen shots from the player's point of view.
-World War 2 can provide almost endless different maps to play on, with several game types and even MP match preferences.
-Better and more accurate guns would also make the game much more interesting than it is right now. WW2 also had alot of silenced and secret weapons, used by snipers and special forces. You might also release a DLC with a Special Weapons Pack only.
A DLC like that is much better than being forced to play hours and days only to "earn" a new or better gun or attachment. The whole "in game earning thing" (that some modern games have) discourages people to buy the game.
-Instead of capturing a flag, you might change the flag into a special weapon that can benefit the team, or combine the two things.
- In Sniper Elite V2 we can only jump over things. In V3 it would be even more interesting if we can also jump down from more objects, climb on ladders, swim in rivers and streams.
- The angle from which you can shoot downward should also be changed; it's not always possible to shoot at an enemy below you.
- The Coop Campaign and other Coop modes like Kill Tally should also be accesible for at least 4 players, like in Zombie Army and just like in Zombie Army people should be able to jump in and out the game without having to end the game first in order to reinvite the players.
- New DLC maps should also be made playable in all Coop modes.
For me (and many others) Sniper Elite V2 is still one of the most enjoyable games to play, because in this game the player has control of the game which is not the case in other modern shooter games.
In SEV2 the player isn't forced to do anything he doesn't like.
Having a free choice in the game is one of the most important (and most appreciated) aspects. Unfortunately alot of modern games don't have that anymore.
In all alot can be done in SEV3, but the main important thing is that the devs actually use the player's ideas. If they don't and only come up with a game like any other stupid modern game, then it's just a waste of time.
Also, I think the rifles are pretty damned accurate like they are. Maybe they'll add an aimbot for everyone in the game? No hacks. LOL
No offense intended. He has some good ideas though.
I don't mind the WW2 theater but maybe some snow and more moutainous maps with lots of cover optons would be nice.
A option for a shooting range competition with various targets at various ranges with dynamic wind and weather might be interesting. If you don't feel like seeing any blood:>)
A better way to have cheaters removed for a longer period of time besides the amount of time it take for them to log right back in would be very nice!
Anyway, I have been playing multiplayer shooter games online for many years now. My favorite, for a long time, was Blackhawk Down and I paticularly liked sniping in the game even thought the graphics were outdated. Does anyone remember that game? Now that I have been playing SEV2 for a year nothing compares to it for me. This is by far my favorite.
Thanks for getting the discussion started Ammo!
