Game won't load

When I click Start game on Steam. It says updating executable and does nothing. Game won't even start. Is there a fix for this?

Mine won't start either. I click play and my name turns green then the game immediately crashes and never loads.

[Edit: My name stays blue, it never turns green.]

Ok, try to install "Windows 10 Codec Pack" [Google search]. For me it work. important: Restart pc after the installation.

Have the same problem...and i dont know which Codec Pack u mean, if i Google it i only find some unserious Websites

If you don't want install codec pack just delete (or rename) 2 video file Intro.bik and rebellion.bik in SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Sniper Elite V2\FMV

Try "verify correct installation of game files" in the game properties on steam library.

Got it fixed by restarting Steam and my PC.
