Way too much bullet drop.
So why do they get away with making the claim of having realistic ballistics? They go as far to say that it is a simulation... Now clearly it is not a simulator, whatever, but the least they could have done is keep the ballistics realistic. The gun is zeroed at 50m, and I am reading the bullet drops over 6 inches at 100 yards, that is more drop than from a 22lr, that much bullet drop would equal the bullet traveling roughly 1000fps, that is subsonic. I am not doing the exact math but I am sure I am pretty close. Thankfully I got it for free, but if I had payed I would be quite angry. That is blatant false advertisement. You wanted to tweak physics for the extra challenge? Fair enough, but pull out the words like, "realistic", and "simulation", that is not asking more than for you to be honest.
I am not a fan of the bullet trails either, but that is a different topic.

Sounds like your using the M-1 Carbine. Not only "they" gave the gun a un-realistic bottle neck cartridge, but "they" boosted the muzzle velocity about 700 fps too high. Then "they" claimed the slot the drivers viewport on the Tiger ,which is a 50 mm opening was smaller than the 30 mm side view height of the gas cap on the tank, that's why the K98 and the SVT-40 can't kill the tank driver, but those rifles can hit the gas cap only. Bullet trails were generated by use of tracer bullets, which was never, ever issued to infantry rifles.Only machine gunsever got tracer ammo.

I was talking about the first mission, your first shot. I visually judged the distance, put zero right above his heart and shot, and I hit the guys thigh. Wtf... At first I was confused, but as I kept playing I noticed the huge difference in drop every 50m would make, I had to stop playing, it was just stupid.
Yea the bullet trails are just a way to give away the enemy position, too many games use them and they need to go.

*facepalm* ... please stop trolling and blame the game for "your own lack of good aim".

I am talking about unrealistic bullet drop, are you trying to tell me it has realistic bullet drop? If so you are clueless.

You are the clueless one because by "common sense" you should already know a "game" can never actually introduce "realistic bullet-drop" ... thus, the problem and fault are your own, NOT the game's.

Shall you seek "realistic bullet-drop" ... go join the military, get trained as a sniper ... then go to war. This is a GAME, not real life.

Okay, lets break it down and make things really simple. The game claims to be an "Advanced sniping simulation", when you are in the options you can tweak the ballistics to "realistic". They never tried to have realistic bullet drop, if they did it would have similar bullet drop to something like arma (or one of the many others with realistic amount of drop), in fact they admit they tweaked the physics to have more bullet drop than what is realistic, way more in fact, and they still throw around words like "simulation" and "realistic". So the problem is the game devs made claims which are not true, and they knew were not true because they intentionally made it so there is 6x too much bullet drop compared to real life. See the problem here? Not rocket science.

There you go, said by the devs themselves. Here is a quote.

"And, ultimately, this is a sniping game rather than a sniping simulator."

Then why advertise it as such? Obviously it was never a simulator, but most people are going to assume they would keep the ballistics fairly realistic, this is not cutting edge technology. JFK reloaded for example, hell even the old delta force games had better bullet drop.

*facepalm* ... use "common sense", pal ... this is a GAME, not real life. If shall you so desired with real life bullet-drops ... like I suggested ... join the military and go to war. You are trolling a NON-REAL WORLD feature for NOT BEING REAL ... dude, a fake fish can never be a real fish. See the problem here? Not rocket science.

Fanboy status confirmed. Nothing to see here.

He doesn't need the Rebellion contact info ... he needs the military recruitment info for his country ...
... he ranted about "not been realistic", and all he is "cry moar" on "his own lousy aim". If shall he indeed seek "realism" ... why not rant about the "enemy snipers" NOT headshot the character [thus insta game-over]?

By ranting a NON-REAL WORLD feature in a "game" for NOT been REAL, he already is an Epic Fail.

I cannot believe how dense you are being. It is simple, they claimed they featured realistic ballistics while at the same time admitting on the side they made them unrealistic for gameplay. WTF is so hard to understand here?

I understand you perfectly but, it is you who fail to understand me and the reality. Indeed, they did make an advertisement of realistic bla bla ... etc. That is called "marketing" ... all companies do THAT. Is this REALITY so difficult for you to understand? This is just a game and their advertisement is marketing.
I think what DireSpawn is pointing out and reacting to is simply the reality that Rebellion falsely claimed a feature. The reality might also be that this is, as you say, "marketing," and that all companies do this, but that doesn't discount the just as real reality that they falsely claimed a feature.

I know and understand what he is ranting about; however, his rant is illogical in light of reality. Since we both understand and agree how the companies do their "marketings" ... what is the logic behind his rant then? Does he seriously think his rants will actually change how the "marketing" works?

Truth be told, as an adult ... it is already by "common sense" and logic to realise whatever is claimed in the advertisement is "marketing" as well as knowing a "game" can never be exactly the same as "real life". That said, what is the point and logic behind his rants? More so, when he keeps blind eyes on the reality and facts presented to him.
