I'd say let go of the run button every now and then to avoid getting totally exhausted.

You recover health at the save point mirrors.

You can absolutely outrun him, what's screwing you is that you don't stop running once you're out of sight, and he follows the sounds, sees you again, and gets you in an endless loop. Make him follow you to the basement and hide under the little couch in the hall, or the wardrobe in the actual basement. Once he goes away, practice some prevention:

1) Crouch EVERYWHERE, he can hear you from a distance even when you're walking normally. Walking is pretty much as slow as sneaking anyway. Running is as noisy as a distraction item, you should never, ever run unless you've already been seen.

2) If you don't make any sounds, he only patrols the staircase area. His path is from the fuse box on the first floor to slightly past the stairs to the third floor. Give him some time to get some distance (ten feet should be enough) before you follow/cross, I didn't wait long enough after leaving the landing closet and he turned around for no reason and got me once.

3) For a stealth game, the sounds of the stalkers are pretty poorly done. When he talks to himself, it doesn't matter what floor he's on, he sounds the same as long as he's a single floor away. You could be in the basement and he's on the stairs to the second floor, and it sounds like he's on the other side of the wall. On the second floor in the bedroom and he's on the stairs to the first floor, sounds like he's on his way to get you. Pretty crappy. Just trust that he's on the stairs, his path only deviates once, when you have the film and the battery for the projector. He patrols around his office at that point, from door to door.

4) The music is actually a way better cue than his voice. You should hear little to nothing if he's unaware of you, getting close brings in an additional strain to the music, and there's a kind of motor-like buzzing when he's about to be close enough for you to see.

5) He is extremely photosensitive. You should only need to use your flashlight ONCE (unless you know the house insanely well). Don't use it otherwise, there shouldn 't be any need, there are plenty of lights.

6) There are a few points in the Ground Corridor where a cutscene makes a racket and summons Felton. Know where the couches are and he'll leave as soon as he loses you, returning to his regular staircase path. Him finding you in a place far from his usual route doesn't cause him to patrol that area instead, that I've seen.

7) You can use Rope to hold doors shut, but set it up in advance; you probably won't have enough time if you're actually being chased. If you ARE being chased, you can hold the door shut behind you, forcing him to find another way. If there is no other way into the room, he'll break through anyway after a few seconds (got me in the bedroom bathroom that way lol).

8) The Ground Corridor dining table/kitchen counter are good ways to hide from him, you can Tom and Jerry it and crouch the opposite way he's searching until he gives up and goes away. Of course, this only works if he loses sight of you before you hide behind the table/counter.

9) Never go around a corner without peeking around it with the camera first, full stop.

10) Likewise, never open/go through a door without peeking through first via crouching or just camera manipulation.

Sure, but so does shoot them before they shoot you as FPS games advice.

It's harder to pull off in practice, I've still not been able to get past the guy the first time. Got downstairs once, but hadn't searched in the wife's room so had to go back upstairs. He found me hiding in a closet once, under a sofa, turned around just as I was sneaking around the other side of a pillar, broke into the bedroom bath. I also have trouble using the defense weapon for some reason. I really want to enjoy this game, but it just ends up frustrating the crap out of me until I give up every time.

I think they need to improve the running and hiding aspects of the game , I too find it very annoying trying to run or hide from him , I have played all Clock Towers 1 ,2,3 and the SNES version and Hautning Ground and was hoping the running and hiding would be like Clock Tower 3 and Haunting Ground where you can actually run properly and find a decent hiding spot , Rosemary ( for me ) runs ridiculously akward and slow , this is really my only gripe with the game. I also don't like the saving aspect of the game. Id llike to be able to save when I want to save.

Oh thank you for the advice, Ashercroix!

My comment was irony. I hate this game. Very frustrating, rather than entertaining. I died 1000 times so i fed up with this stupid chase/run/chase style.

I thought it was crouching and triangle. Try checking your files. All the tutorial stuff should be in there.

what else does triangle triggers i play on pc so i am tring to figure out the button

If you can open the menu with the files in it, that should tell you all the buttons. On the PS4 version, I think the controls are also show when you start up the game. If you are really desperate, you could start a new game. The tutorial stuff is right at the start, so you can get that, then just return to your original game.

THANK YOU. I thought it was just me! The soundscape in this game kinda suck for being a horror/stealth type game where you need to be aware of where the stalker is. >__>

I was streaming this title, and I complained about not being able to tell where the hell the stalker actually was, but had my mod dismiss me instead, claiming that the game's sounds CLEARLY identified where the stalker was for him... >__>
