There should have been some auto save at some points then atleast.

why? because all other games have it these days?

Probably because nowadays gaming isn't just reserved for people with too much time on their hands and / or like to be punished in a game by having to redo long segments.

yeah, upstairs I found the first one after a certain something something at the end of a hall. You get a hold key prompt to restore health and a prommpt to tap a different key to save. I use the pad so it was left trigger to heal A to save. It seems to use just the one file though, I had no selection so try to back up your save once in a while in case of corruption. Like from a crash or power outage or something whil the game is accessing it. The game has a bit of a oldschool resident evil vibe to it so far, and amnesia with the hide mechanic.

its ok, sorry dont want sound rude. yes, youre right, for people who have only little time its hard.
but on the other hand, its a great experience, so i would recommend, to reserve this special time to this special game. (in this case). like a intense monent of time.

You are able to save as soon as you re-enter the house.
Just go to the second floor near the room with the corpse and there will be a glowing mirror.
These glowing mirrors can restore your life aswell

In the beta they had the first save in one of the outer hallways, now it's at the end of the hallway to the bedroom. You can't access it until after your first encounter because the cutscenes stops you. Unless you're really bad at hiding there's no way you can not save early in the game. Unless you just miss the mirror which is understandable.

I can see it being easy for a lot of people to miss it though if they didn't think anything of it approaching the cutscene and just take a left and leave the floor afterward. I almost did that but I compulsively quick scan environments to see if i catch anything interesting in my peripheral and i caught the glimmer and checked it out hoping it owuld be a save actually since I'd not found an option yet at the time. In that sense, if somebody noticed the glimmer, and that's common then it's intuitively placed I guess since we are looking for a way to save by then. I found myself looking for a typewriter by the time I made it to the floor actually. lol
