Here you can move your camera and move more freely. You can pick your 2 jutsus to use from masters that you level up by playing the missions and online modes. Don't worry, the masters level up quickly. You also can choose your ultimate jutsu.
You can customize your character too.
You can also equip a weapon and a ninja tool. There are many. Don't like fists? Use claws, don't like claws? Use a sword.
So yeah just go watch gameplay and make up your mind. Don't listen to people saying it has no new features. They probably haven't played it or just hate the game.
Overall this game is the most unique out of all of the other games. Storm 1 is also pretty unique as you get an actual free roam but in the hidden leaf
Bruh i love this game lol. It has great potential but the devs aren't making it happen.
Despite the game's many flaws, the focus on `acrobatic ninja-combat` is pretty fantastic. :D Apart from during laggier matches, movement feels incredibly solid as you transition between running on the ground and jumping and dashing along the walls. Though some may state that only having access to two jutsu during a match is incredibly limiting, I'd say it's so for the sake of game balancing, as any more than that would practically railroad players into using particular `builds` centered around recovery in tandem with something providing invincibility at -all- times due to the nature of some jutsu. Or any more would likely just trivialize their use.
The customization in the game isn't really all too bad; you're able to mix and match recolored pieces of equipment that characters in the show used. It sounds kind of trashy, but you can come up with some pretty tasteful aesthetic creations! >:P In this regard, the game is pretty similar to the Dragonball Xenoverse series.
All and all, though, it's a great game. :D There's quite a bit of depth in the combat system. I've over a thousand hours and don't regret a second of play! (Apart from that week or two that the game was down like a year ago. >.>;)
EDIT: Adding to the point of two jutsu, I can't imagine a -single- Defense setup that wouldn't have Subterranean Voyage if we were allowed to have three jutsu. Not a one. Or we wouldn't see a -single- attack type that doesnt use the Sharingan as their third jutsu. As it stands, all of the jutsu have a utility to their use, apart from -just- dealing damage or healing. They all 'do stuff'. Having any more than that would see players all running the same exact third-jutsu, moreso than people already seem to try to copy eachother without researching how to play the game for themselves.
Tbh i think an extra visual jutsu wouldn't be so bad cuz just add like 40sec cool down to it specifically and its better than before. Well if you say that's literally what substitution jutsus are, then i can't argue but both aren't the same exactly right? It would also look good to have more variety and flashy stuff. No one wouldn't mind having it and its not something exploitable or something which people could spam all the time which is why people complain about imbalance in adding another jutsu.Even if its 40sec cool down,it would still better than before.
Kind of annoying to see such great potential go to waste and also there is one more thing which is gonna be accepted by everyone, that is a feature to the game which shows the no.of players queuing for Quick play, Ninja world league and events, just have a number beside those, showing the number of players queuing and it would be great.
Storm 1 has actual free roam https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAU0oEHsYLw&t=544s
About shinobi striker arena having free roam. you are in an enclosed space, even though you have 3d and can move freely its not really free roam.
The only thing that is free roam there is The hub. I don't want to argue about this.
-Echidna .
If they add tons of things and majority of the things from the anime then the game will have too much gigabytes. It doesn't seem fair to criticize a game for lacking things from an anime when the anime itself has 720 episodes. They added the main and some side characters, adding characters like kushina who have pretty lame movesets would be a waste.
They are adding 2 justus, an ultimate jutsu, customization things from the character, new animations and a weapon. They seem to be adding fast but i haven't checked.
