Chunin and Jounin

I've been playing the game for a tiny bit. Currently level 27 or so and after taking a passing look at my profile I noticed I'm listed as a Genin. Is the progression system to advance to Chunin and Jounin done during the VR missions and their small stories, or is it based on rank within PVP? The shops barely have anything in them, so I'm assuming advancing in rank allows new items to available for purchase.
I've done quite a bit of VR missions, currently in the B-ranks, yet I still haven't found any clear sign of a promotion. Anyone have an answer? Would be greatly appreciated, can't find anything on it anywhere.

I think it is done through missions, I'm currently around lvl 50 and still a genin iirc

You have to finish the missions and you will become Chunnin, i don't know nothing about Jounnin yet :c

I assume its the same, finsihing more vr missions=more rank, i've still got plenty to do although im chunin, finishing all the npc missions got me that, got some A and S ranks mainly left

I don't know what it's based on, but as you do the VR missions, you will eventually get an A rank from Naruto where you have to fight him.
Beating that mission gets you to Chunin.

I don't know if Jounin is available yet since there is a credits roll once you reach Chunin...

Oh, yeah. I'm a Chunin now. Jounin is gotten when you complete all VR missions.

Just so you're aware, there are like four missions after reaching Chunin that are locked. You only have to do those that are unlocked to that point. Meaning those four or so can stay locked. Nobody knows how to unlock them yet.

I completed all the VR Missions on my PS5 and became chunin then jonin from just doing all VR Missions.

All the locked missions became unlocked just by completing previous available missions
