From what I've seen, yes, but it is quite difficult, you can always try looking for a team with matchmaking.

Ty guys we did it (defense is the key). If anyone wants to know how we did it, well you just spam the wall jutsu and block all the ennemies, then u just have to attack

You can also do this solo with almighty push if you preordered and have access to Pain.

Defense type sucks for this mission. You need to eliminate them as fast as possible, not to keep them away long enough. I'd suggest ranged type since when you stand close to mobs, they deal damage to both you and the gate, while on the distance you don't have to worry about losing hp. Besides that, summoning jutsus seem to work really well, salamander helped me to solo both D and C rank missions.

best combine to have for attacker is summon snake and ahmighty push. put the snake near the gate then use ahmight push push them away

Be a attacker and use lariat hits multiple enemies. Get some smoke bombs to stun them. And leaf wind combo for aoe damage. Did it on my own even the b rank version of it. Its easy as hell
