Why do people hate this game?
I've played this game for like 30 hrs the past week and I've had almost 0 issues, I mean where's all the negativity coming from? I think it's the best naruto game ever made.

People hate it because of the game breaking bugs that make it literally impossible to play for some people. Well, more like people hate it because these bugs exist and the devs have not even acknowledged that they exist. There is no communication and seemingly no effort put into fixing the game. On top of that, there is very little content for a 50USD title.

I see, idk if it's just me but I ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ love the game, if it had more content I'd loved it more but I guess it's my opinion.. or maybe because I've not experienced TONS of bugs, maybe like once a day or so.. But I mean gameplay is at its finest.

I'm sure most people enjoy the core gameplay. But that doesn't mean anything if you can't play the game... I sure as hell can't play PvP. As in, it's physically impossible to play PvP because of a queue bug. I can sit here for hours upon hours and never find a match because of it.

you are lucky if you have no problems like... extremely lucky i can’t even que solo anymore so if no one invites me to team and friends aren’t on i can’t play. However without lag i do agree with you saying this is the best naruto game made . Some tweaks for balancing are needed but the evasion and gameplay in general i love it more than any storm game where you just spam chakra dash

dont have much problem with this game except with the blackscreen problem (i think they finally fixed when we lose points with that bug) and when servers are trolling and teleport back but the game is nice and fun to play with friends

You're pretty obviously blinded by your fanboyism, but I'll lay it down real quick without even going into the bugs or going into your Xenophobia.

It's a niche drawn out otaku-oriented game. That alone alienates most of people who would purchase it, so firstly the community (if it can be called that) is practically non-existent thanks to the inability to even speak to anybody in-game and you could say some ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like, "But you can't talk to people in Fortnite and it's popular", in which case we'd have to delve into the roots of Why and in this conversation where I'm talking down to you I obviously won't put in the effort.

Even through text it might sound like I'm a little angry and I might be, we'll get to that.

So already we've got a very limited audience and that's fine, because if it's good the game will flourish; except it's not.

Let's look at the gameplay and I have no direct qualms with it, for the most part I feel that if involved players have access to the same tools it is an even fight. How ♥♥♥♥♥♥ would it be in Rock Paper Scissors you could never use rock, but your opponent could use all three? I got in at the two week mark after the game was released because of outside reasons, though I could already see what disadvantages I was put at mainly in the area of access to Abilities. I got filled in on all the techs and quickly unlocked most of them; easy peasy right? Not particularly, I am a skilled player, but that's a real easy way to distance your players because it immediately creates this gap that new players have to overcome to enjoy the game. They already purchased the game, why do they have to pay more through their time? Not to mention the skill gap of those who know how the game works, learned the like 3 or 4 maps?, have all the abilities, probably care more about the game and the series if they're foundation players, no advertising (look I watch anime too and pay close attention to gaming, but I didn't know the game existed until somebody told me)

I'm pretty bored to even dissect the game further, this really got away from me to begin with, so I won't contribute more to this list without at least six-figure income for a month of work with Bankai, I mean Bandai? Either way, I went into this knowing the game would die a quick and painless death, painless for the people of the world.

The negativity comes from the fact that not everyone is having no issues. There's actually plenty of issues being reported:

1. Black Screen.
The black screen issue happens at the end of a game. You might not get the results screen for the game, but rather get a black screen and the disconnection/leaver penalty.

2. The connection system.
There's lag, rubberbanding, games dropping due to failed host transfers and unstable connections. Moreover, reconnecting to a game in progress or backfill features aren't a thing. At the sime time, there's servers for the login and lobby that might be down. Rumors have it Bandai is using a hybrid Server-PeerToPeer (P2P) system where Login, Lobby and Matchmaking are handled by the server, but matches themselves are P2P, thereby combining the downsides of both. The precise details are up to speculation however.

3. Matchmaking.
There's no skill based matchmaking in this game, nor are premades and solos separated, leading to a lot of very lopsided games.
Further, there's currently an issue where some people are unable to play PvP because the matchmaker keeps endlessly searching for a match.

4. Bugs.
You can get stuck and unable to do anything after planetary devastation. Sakura might send you into an endless loop of "checking items to claim". We've had a few people report their progress randomly got deleted. Fatal errors may occur at any point and crash the game. Some people can't even login because their character can't be authenticated or because the game doesn't recognize their game version. Some people didn't get their just rewards for the Ninja World League ranking. Feel free to add more, that's just off the top of my head from what I remember people reporting.

5. Lack of content and QoL.
There's no text chat, you cannot interact with any of the NPCs while matchmaking, customization options are fragmented by role and limited, clan or other common social features are missing, there's no report function for griefers, there are no custom games, you'll quickly have unlocked most of the things and... probably more. This is the most subjective of the categories.

LONG STORY SHORT:
The game has issues. You might not be affected by any, or all of them, but these are all things people have reported suffering from. This isn't meant to be a comprehensive list either - I didn't even touch on balancing, because that's typically hotly debated.
Negativity is to be expected.

I also really ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ like this game still, i have these bugs and sometimes i can't do ♥♥♥♥ . Lags, Blackscreen Bugs are ruining the game for me. Still when it works, its a hell lotta fun alone and with friends. I really like to master the different classes and jutsus so you can find your own playstyle. Some people didn't really get this feature and play the same jutsus like Mitsukis Snake Hands and Gaaras Sandshield and they camp the objectives as 4 defenders with those jutsus. I hope they nerf these jutsus, especially on Kumo-Gakure you can't do anything against those people except trying the same thing but i don't want to sink on this level of ♥♥♥♥♥ness. These are the things killing the experience for me. I didn't even expect that much of story in this game since it has it focus on PVP and thats what they advertised this game with. More jutsus, masters, cosmetic items and weapons would make the game better but i think at this point they maybe are starting to abandon this game. On weekdays we have 700-900 players and on the weekend we have 1000-1200 players wich is just to less. Maybe if they fix this messed up stuff and bring more content they will pull more people in/back in.

I don't have many problems myself at the moment, only really that the Black Screen persists and results in the game match not counting. But there are definitely people that experience various errors as well as not having gotten the Ninja World League rewards from the 1st event.

I'm gonna keep gambling, all the buggs upset me.
obliviondoll Sep 26, 2018 @ 1:38pm
There's also the conflicting reports and seemingly-intentional refusal to address the topic of Denuvo which is holding many people back from buying - like me.

Which, of course, also contributes to the lack of playerbase. And the lack of players contributes to the "dead/dying game" feeling. Which leads to people who expected a great and fun PvP-focused game with an active playerbase to be upset about the lack of active playerbase.
