A game like Wangan Midnight Maximum Tune

So how is the customization system , it is like the arcade where you gain "level" which allow you to modify a piece on your car or you gain money at the end of each race to customise it?

Edit : Ok just read you gain level but you gain xp only in story mode or in multi too?

The characters' face pop up in the story mode which reminds me of Maxitune. Sadly this game is not seen in the US and European arcades. Maximum Tune 5 is also released in the USA and Canada.

Well there not much of them were i live, its slot machine or some other arcades since its not as popular as in the past ( maybe around 2010 and before) and maybe because of the cost: saw a two place for Midnight Maximum Tune 5 for around 14k + whatever the shipping cost or more.

you can gain it in any mode (except time attack?)
I did play the arcade one, and I could tell you, you gain level for getting a perma-modification (not like MaxiTune games) and gaining xp could be on anymode. At least if you always winning, you could get your car full-tuned on 3 settings (top speed, slipstream (idk, I forgot), and handling).
