In the behind the scenes video on their youtube page they say a meteor impacted North America destroying a lot of the US along with Canada but brought with it many new alloys that make mining companies extremely wealthy and powerful. Its stated that the "quartz creature" was brought along with it.
Also agreed. Someone please take the Alien franchise away from Ridley Scott. IMO the creatures from Firebase could pass for Deadspace monsters if they were darker in color. The first time I saw them I was reminded of Deadspace.
Awesome! Thanks for clarifying that. Was wondering about atmosphere quality when they needed the masks. Seemed far too much for simply heavy, windy weather.
