NISA is bad at localization generally
I'd rather they stay away.

Well Since Gust took their mascot with them to Koei Tecmo, and hasn't been involved in the Nep franchise since Mk2, and Idea Factory and Compile Heart falling out with NIS, the probability of that happening are extremely likely, if not impossible.

Consider the bad blood between Compile Heart and NIS after several of the latter's staff left to join CH (who then worked on Trillion), the possibility of Nisa appearing again is 0.

Gust...I dunno, probably licensing issue with Kemco?

Nisa Showed up in Disgaea 5 making a ton of Gameindustry references.

Gust is now Koei Tecmo, as written above. And they are engaged in the Atelier-series: two games are already available on Steam, and the third (Atelier Lydie & Suelle) will be released on March 27.

Gust and Nisa weren't part of the official story after the rebirth anyway, so even if there was a way for the companies to work together and bring them back (which there isn't), they'd still feel out of place at this point. And besides, there are more important characters that need to return in main storyline games, such as MAGES., 5pb, Cave, Falcom, Tekken... and of course, Plutia, Rei and Peashy.

Plus NISA did a crap job translating Victory. If you look at Noble form Lost Pause's YouTube Channel he did a video on Localization and translation and talks about the Ys VIII disaster. He also compares NISA's Job translating Victory to IFI's translation of Rebirth3 and man it's a night and day difference but there are some lines that were better in Victory such as Pirachu/Warechu's line when Iris Heart appears for the first time. Plus Victory's Translation made Uni sound very rude towards Neptune which was not appropriate for that scene. So it's no wonder that Compile Heart dropped NISA after that.

I took a look at the video. Here it is for anyone who's interested. It's quite interesting.

I get what NIS was trying to do with the HDN games. I will admit that the dialogue--while more accurate--in the new ones is a bit bland at times and is not as entertaining. So I guess that's a question too. Is it okay to take some liberties if it will help the comedic value come off a bit more? There are a lot of references in the newer HDN games that are very JP specific, and because of that, they are missed. I loved the reference to Arrested Development in HDN1 on PS3. I thought that was awesome. Things like this should stay so it makes the games more relatable. That is one thing I wish stayed. And I think MINOR name changes are okay too. For example, in DanganRonpa, Kirigiri's name was changed to Yuno because it was much easier to say and remember.
