[BUG] Screen tearing while strafing
Unfortunately this game fell to a very well-known issue of games developed in unity. Due to how the update loop is implemented, there is a lot of visible screen tearing while strafing.

I already helped other unity game devs fix their games with the same information, so I really hope devs of this game will also fix it.

Here's a video of the issue - https://youtu.be/HfEEb2EXz2k
You can see that while standing the camera movement is smooth and no screen tearing appears. As soon as I start strafing and moving camera at the same time it becomes "jerky".

Like I said, this is a very popular issue among unity devs. Here's a detailed information on why it happens and how to fix it:

Video version:

It should take an experienced developer very little time to adjust the update loop in a way that the issue doesn't occur anymore.

Before anyone asks me to enable/disable v-sync or change my graphics settings one way or another - I already did that and I'm 100% sure it's not the client problem, it's due to the implementation, so please, abstain from suggesting that.

Are you sure you are talking about tearing and not stuttering? I saw nothing in the video.

Yes, I'm sure. I can record in the original resolution and re-upload, give me some minutes.

Here you go, updated the post with higher resolution video. 1080p is already available, 2k should be available later (depends on youtube). The easiest way to see the issue in this video is to look at the ground close to the bottom of the screen. Just compare it at the beginning when I'm not moving vs later when I'm strafing.

Also I'm monitoring FPS at the same time and it doesn't dip lower than 165, so it's definitely not stuttering.

If it helps, I'm almost positive that it wasn't an issue on earlier versions of the game before release (I played it last in November 2020)

The video is good now but I still think you confused stuttering with tearing. Also the Video Smooth Motion in Unity is about stuttering and not tearing.

Tearing is this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Tearing_(simulated).jpg

Do you really have the same problem like in the picture?
Pe4enie Apr 24, 2021 @ 8:52am
Well, it's really hard to say actually. I would describe it as both. Either tearing (not due to graphics card itself, but due to game engine), or micro-stuttering without actual FPS drops. Maybe you are right. But if we both understand what I mean it doesn't really matter, does it now? :)

Do you think it's possible to fix sometime soon?

Yes, I believe that DEVs will check it and do something about it if it is possible. They read everything here.

What i have doing is, enable Vsync in Nvidia Control System for this Game, ( seperat in Programms ) and disable it in the Game Menue. I do this allways since i have a 144 Hz Monitor and no Problems but this Game has some Problems with that and the FOV. Maybe test a little bit with the FOV Setting, i play now with 65

Yes... whats your Problem? i try to helping you..i know you says, you all do with your Graphic Settings....im only telling what i have do and now its good for me.

But i mean , its not a Tearing Problem, in your Video i cant see anyhting of that, i think its a Problem with the Codeing of the FOV ..thats why im telling you, try with it.

Well, it's not a help request, you see. It's a bug report. Please, go along with peace.

Yep, having the same issue like you.
Playing on 240hz screen with 2080 Ti and from the beginning i had massive problems with how the game looks in motion.
I got used to it after a few days but it would be nice if it was fixed.

The game felt good a few months prior to 1.0, maybe longer it was before any of the begging showed more info besides text, but then they messed the game up and guess have not fixed it yet; I can't play it since I came back at 1.0.
