We've finished Hobo and had a ton of fun, can someone recommend similar games to try out?

This game is one of the kind. Some of those are somehow similar -

Garbage: Hobo Prophecy
Homeless Simulator
CHANGE
Open Sewer
Barn Finders
Urban Survival
Bum Simulator

You can only try those three games if you found the Golem for Professor Müller :P

Neo Scavenger
Thief Simulator
Drug dealer simulator

Try Pathologic 2, it is also a survival in a big city but you are not a homeless person, you are a doctor who has to survive in a city that is getting infected by the plague and you get to cure people, make painkillers in your home, steal from other people's home (and kill if you have to), trade for what you need. I'm very satisfied with the game and difficulty, reminded me a bit of Hobo.

"The Long Dark" reminds me of this game as far as surviving the elements and scavenging for resources. Canadian wilderness survival. Also very frustrating, watch out for wolves :)

Thanks for the suggestions!

Kingdom Come: Deliverance. I think it's on sale right now. Similar survival mechanics but not as difficult. The game treats you like a true peasant from the beginning and you have to work your way up to become a respectable character. Also loved it because it's based in the old Bohemian/ modern day Czech land areas.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a great game IMO. Played it through 3 times I think and will probably do it again at some point but didn't really consider it similar to this game. Very fun game, combat is kinda hard to grasp early on.

I have not played Hobo yet, but I felt sad when I've read that the devs left this game unpolished... I found this game while looking for some immersive sim + cyberpunk game, which may have a similar vibe. Maybe some of the following could be of your taste:

-Shadows of Doubt [still on early access, not great but has potential to become great]
-Else Heart.Break() [this little gem was much better than I expected]
-Cloudpunk (I have not played this one, and there are some mixed reviews)
-Nivalis [not released yet, and being made by the devs of Cloudpunk]
-Pathologic 2 (I have not played this yet, but others say it has the same kind of immersion)
-Kenshi (this seems like a survival sandbox. I have not played it yet)

give hobo: tough life a shot. if it's not finished, what's there is a solid experience.

i just put shy of 50 hours into it and had a great time. i'm not sure of any replayability tho.

i'm trying to find other things to scratch the itch. just looking at general survival games that scratch the itch. i like the feel of post-apoc or homeless games because you get to scrounge through trash and make due.

I could give NEO Scavenger a go and I keep itching to return to CDDA.
