Multiplication rules are unintuitive
As far as I can tell, the result for a row flows from the cell that a number is not on the end, towards the cell that a number is on the end.

I only found this out from reading a forum post, and frankly I'm not completely convinced this is actually the full solution.

It makes it much worse when you consider that there are arrows pointing in the opposite direction of the way the solution is supposed to flow.

This is absolutely something that needs explicit explanation. I've played and 100%ed every single cells game multiple times, and I feel that if it's not intuitive to someone who's very familiar with your games, it will be much less intuitive to someone who is not.

A multiplication cell multiplies ALL cells that go before it. The arrows should be ignored, think of these as equations. If the "total" is at the end of a line going from left to right, imagine like you're solving a simple math problem. Point is, everything up to each multiplication is added up. These two things can definitely use clarification though, it took me 4 levels till I was finally comfortable with it.
Yes, and the problem is that the direction of the order of operations is never explicitly defined and is very difficult to intuitively discover.

I agree, this really needs to be expounded upon.

I thought I had figured out the multiplication rules but now puzzle #29 brought about new confusion.

Spoiler for #29:

Can someone explain to me why the total of these isn't 5?! Thanks.

tl;dr - the equation is read towards the solution (so in the above linked one, it's read +1+2x2=6).

It's going to be patched to be a little clearer in the future.

Thanks, Jragghen!

I certainly did not interpret the multiplication puzzles like this, and I'm amazed I got this far with my wrong interpretation (without guessing of course). :)
