How do me and my friend play this game together?

So me and my friend just bought this game and wanted to try and play together but we can't seem to get into a game. The dedicated server doesn't seem to work and when we try to host we don't see each others game. Is it over can we not play? I need to know!!!!

I've read every thread that comes through here for the last ten+ years.

You can get it to work, because other people run servers and play together every now and then. I can't help you on how to do it, I just want you to be aware that it's possible. I've read of other people having problems as well, so you are not alone in that.

if you have enough people use logmein hamachi to create a lan server and have everyone join ur wifi
