Tips and Help for Gameplay
Hey there,

We think if we create a thread with some tips and help, it could benefit everyone :)
So, take a look on this tips and, please, feel free to add more (only tips, ,not bugs here please)

STORAGE (IF YOUR LINGS ARE NOT WORKING, CHECK HERE FIRST)
Try to build a warehouse as soon as possible. It will increase your storage capacity. If your storage is full, your workers will stop crafting and gathering items.

IRON, SILVER, GOLD
When your Miner (or Sculptor) has enough level, they can get iron, silver or gold from normal rocks.

ALARM
Be sure that there is no more enemies so uncheck the alarm sound, because it will trigger again if there is another enemy attacking.

HEAT - WARMTH
At night, you need to build Fire Sources (like Candles Lantern, Street Lantern, Iron Lanter) to warm your Lings. If you don't have this at night and they are spreaded on the map, their Warmth status will decrease and they can get SICK. Also, you need FIRE WOOD available, each fire source will NEED at least ONE Firewood. Be sure to have it stocked (there is an information on your interface for that, on the right).

FIRE
To extinguish fire, you need a Well builded and at least one Builder who will take care of the fire. He will finish what he is doing and then he will go to the Well. Builders should extinguish fire even with the alarm on.

PLANTATIONS (Overall)
For food plantation, you need Farmers. Each plantation has 3 phases. At the end of the 3rd phase, you can harvest (just select the plantation as you would select a tree). Then Farmers will go there (each one has 4 pieces of food type). Now you don't need to select for harvest, it will auto trigger when its done (you can toggle on or off).

COTTON
You need Herbalists to work on Cotton, not Farmers. Their process is the same above.

ENEMIES
Always have at least one or two guards at the beginning of the community. Enemies will not come until Day 3 (they can come on 3, 4, etc, but not before). They will get harder with time. Also, if you set CHALLENGE with a high value at the beginning, you will have more enemies. So, set this if you are an experienced player only.

BEDS
Lings can replenish Health when they sleep on a Bed. They will become sad each time they go to sleep and there is no Bed. Tents can replace beds, but it will not replenish Health. Beds can only be built inside Houses.

BOOKS
Build Book Cabinets so the Lings will read books when they are with low Mood. Lings will still read books from cabinets and level up on education, with books (default 5 per cabinet) they just get a boost, this is why we limited a number per book cabinet builded.

LEVEL CAP
Each Ling can have up to Level 10 in each profession. All levels are compared with Education. They will need to read books to increase Education. For this, build Book Cabinets.

WORKBENCH
You start with 2 workbenches. If you lost all of it, you are doomed. So be sure to have some stored. Only Wood Logs and Stones are required to build a Worker Workbench now, which you will be fine if you have some.

LINGS NOT FORAGING (or CRAFTING)
Check if your storage is full. If yes, they will not forage, gather items or craft items anymore. You can delete items or order to craft (i.e., Wood Logs takes a lot of space in storage) some more to free space.

FISH DOCK / FISHES
You need to build a fish dock and have a fisherman to fish. Also, before that, you need to wait for the fishes to grow.

ROTATE OBJECTS
You can rotate objects and buildings with "<" and ">" before building.

MOOD
If their Mood is too low (usually below 5), they will not work and will look for something to do: it can be rest on a tree, play guitar or study (if you have a book cabinet).

Please prioritize the workbench issue. I've been watching a streamer play this today and this issue was pretty frustrating.

In my opinion just reading the above without having bought the game yet (will be buying it in a few minutes having seen your activity on the boards here), I think that the builder should stop all work and tend to any fires first and then go back to work. By the time he's done, the fire may have spread or burned down the place, that would get annoying fast. Or instead of the builder, make a dedicated watchman who is like a firefighter and tends to any and all fires, that way your builders don't get distracted from doing their jobs.

Does having lots of beds in one house affect mood? As in, do they want to sleep alone or do they simply not care? In Gnomoria this actually makes a difference.

Hi guys, any info on how the Corals work? i built a pig pen, and form that point on nothing really happend with it... the farmer didnt goto it, and the piglet didnt grow, i played for 3 days after building with no change... or am i just bein stupid and missed something really obvious??

And how long till were able to destroy buildings... and the Storeage cart... cos i think it spoils the view of the community, and technically theres no need for it after the warehouse is built, or even give us the oppertunity to move the cart to a different location, as and wen we please, could be another job for a few lings... and will there be wheel barrows later on?

We will implement buildings and road destruction on next build.
For Corrals, farmers are the ones who works on that. They need to go and work like the same on plantations.

I just lost a community of 15 Lings to a single wolf that my hunter agrod and pulled back to my base. Regular Lings need to be able to defend themselves in some capactiy. They don't have to do it well and obviously shouldn't be as strong as a Guard with even basic equipment but they should be able to do something. Maybe make it so that lumberjacks and Miners and can do a bit of fighting as well when they are at the portal only.

I once had an archer going melee against a wolf with only 2 damage... not a good fight; I would assueme that is due to 1 point of strength. Further, you can change right after the alarm goes off.
