Report a translation problem
Have anyone had this problem before? thank you in advance
Are you sure the exe file is in that folder? maybe it's in a sub folder?
EDIT: Try installing the game in other drive than C: ?
I had the same issue and fixed it by downloading the latest daily build.

On Windows 10 you might get a SmartScreen warning because the file is so new; it is safe to ignore this. Let us know how you go.
Like no subtitles? Did you go inside the options menu and check the subtitles in the game?
About the lack of text, yes, you need to manually enable the subtitles.
One more note is that the saved games from the regular version (Steam) are in a different format than the HD version, so you can't use the saved games from the Steam version.
Thanks again!

Follow the steps mentioned here. Increase the font size step by step until you are comfortable.
Steps:
1. Open gui.ini file in either the game install directory or %APPDATA%\The Longest Journey\gui.ini
2. For subtitles change these values:
bigfont=Slurry
bigheight=19
3. For tooltips change these values:
smallfont=Garamond
smallheight=11
4. Save the file and restart the game.
I found the appdata but cant find the game there. I there any other step to do it like from steam properties or game folder?
EITHER THE GAME INSTALL DIRECTORY OR APPDATA. Have you checked the game install directory?
ok found the gui file in the directory in notepad there is western part, russian pat and text 95 part what should i do next?
Well, you can't. Since it's not a game per se. There's absolutely no harm in running the game through ResidualVM. The only downside I see is steam wouldn't be able to clock the playtime.
edit: never mind i just deleted the gui.ini that was in the steam game directory and the annoying little artifact was gone, The game runs and looks so great now
I downloaded the mod fearing it wouldnt work with the spanish translation (the game had an oficial outstanding and rare spanish dub, but not on steam, you have to add it) so I just placed the translatio files into the mod files, not the original game files because i thought the mod doesnt add new HD text but just replaces the fonts. Thing is, it didnt asked me "are you sure you want to overwrite..." when doing so, so I looked and saw that the translation folder system is a bit different from the english folder system.
So I thought,Im screwed. I launched the ResidualVM, still says english, but wth, I launch the game through ResidualVM, and ITS IN FREAKING SPANISH; voices and all. With HD fonts, antialiasing, everything!
How?? Is the mod an AI or something?
Anyway, THANK YOU SO MUCH; you are my hero.
