The 4 crystal underwater puzzle, what the hell?

As much as I'm loving this game, what were they smoking when they designed this puzzle, I know the solution yet I still can't understand why it makes any logical sense.... how the hell were we supposed to figure this out, the perspective alone just makes it even more confusing

This was the puzzle that stopped me from finish the game a long time ago. Had to, sadly, look at a walkthrough, but I see that it looks like they screwed up the puzzle where if you flipped one crystal spot with the other it would work the way I thought it was suppose to. Still bothers me, but at least I can move on without feeling like I cheaped it that much.

Almost 20 years later, I still remember that puzzle. It took me like 3+ hours and a lot of perseverance to finally solve it, in the age of no Internet. The perspective certainly made the puzzle harder than it should.

It makes no sense! I wanted to figure it out by myself, because it seemed clear that I had everything I needed. Did noone play test this game? Even looking at the answer, it makes no sense. I'm annoyed!

I know I'm resurrecting an old thread but no point in starting a new one if this one is here.

I think this particular puzzle is flawed in its design. I think they screwed up the order of the sides of two triangular keys and that's why it makes no sense. Very frustrating and the only way through it without a guide is the time-consuming concept of trial and error.

I've just learned this will now run on scummvm so I'm going to play this again on my tablet

The only thing that doesn't make sense is that the harpoon fits with the pot, but well, it's stuck anyway, so we don't have to guess that. Whatever symbol is facing outward on the stones does not matter, as long as their sides face the neighboring slot's symbols.
