Small World can't row fast enough

I'm 99% complete with this game but for some reason I can't row fast enough in between the stages in It's A Small World to trigger the secret characters. I've tried holding 'W' down with the keyboard, rotating LS clockwise with a 360 controller, and even having 2 players rotating furiously to no avail. Has anyone else run into this problem? The OCD part of my brain has a big problem leaving this at 99% over such a stupid bug.

Nevermind I got it. In case anyone in the future experiences this issue, I fixed it by setting thedetail level to lowest and running the game in full screen (I was running in windowed mode before). I'm not sure which of these changes fixed it, but it did! 100% sweet OCD release...

Same problem here. I've tried almost everything, changing resolution, detail level, effect level, but nothing helped so far. I'm rotating the stick on the controller like a maniac, but not even one character appeared so far. Is there something i'm missing or am i just not fast enough?

Btw. i don't even understand how to "rotate WASD clockwise". I've tried every possible combination, but except for just holding W it makes everything only worse.

Completely clueless at the moment. It can't be that hard!?

In my opinion it's definitely a bug. If I remember correctly, once i tried it in fullscreen (vs. windowed) it happened easily just by rotating the 360 controller's stick continuously. I don't remember trying it but I'd assume just holding down W should also work... but unfortunately I don't have any new insight other than to make sure you're playing fullscreen? Good luck!

Okay, it's solved for me now. I played in the lowest resolution, windowed mode, lowest details and all effects turned off. On my first try i just lowered the details and effects.

My guess would be, that it is an issue caused by input lag or/and fps drops.

Alright, i've tested a little bit more. Whenever i play in full screen, i can't get it. But switching to windowed mode and it works without problems. It's also possible to switch the mode ingame with Alt + Return. Details and Effects don't matter. Just holding W to make the characters appear works as well.

What a weird bug and it's even weirder that the solution for me is the exact opposite of what helped in your case.

Another edit. Needed that workaround again in River Cruise. I was barely able to pick any item that floats above me, but switching to windowed mode solved the problem again. There is something really weird going on.

I want to thank the people in this thread. For some reason during quarentine I have dedicated my time to 100% this game. I was in fullscreen top resolution, went to windowed automatically by clicking on my other monitor, then lowered the resolution, then alt-return keyed back to full screen and simply holding W worked. This game is so mind numbingly boring/easy it is driving me crazy

Have you got it to work yet, at this point, I am willing to pay someone 10$ just to finish small world for me. I have tried everything

i had the same problem (PC Win 10, two Monitors, Xbox 360 Controller). i pressed w, so the row was fast enough. Only press w. I managed to solve this problem. I used the lowest resolution, first i had both monitors on... but it didnt work.... i used window modus, same result... i turned off the second monitor( short mon), Fullscreen the main mon. didnt worked, so i switched again to window, i dont now why but i pressed again only w and then the hidden character appeared and i finished the game. Hope that helps someone. Just try playing with the window and fullscreen.

I'm having a different problem with this attraction. I have 9/10 secrets and have replayed this attraction about 15-20 times using different settings. I have also tried switching between using a controller and using the keyboard.

I realize that ASIA isn't appearing in 'it's a small world' for me, and so I can't collect the final secret. Does anyone else have this issue or have any recommendations of fixes to try?

I don't know if it was luck, but I just held "W" for the entire ride and I got all the lil islands and completed the ride fully.

I have no problem rowing, I'm just not getting all of the dances no matter how many times I repeat the attraction.
