I played with my PlayStation controller.
When you enter the zone where you have to wave to Roo, you've got to quickly press square button while moving your left analog stick from right to left and repeat it. You get this secret asap you enter the zone with Roo, you don't have to be near him to get this. I believe, you can get this secret only with the help of the controller, it is impossible to get it if you use your keypad

Thanks, that did it. Took me a few goes to get it right. I mashed X (on my Xbox controller) until I got close to Roo, then wiggled the left stick a bit, and the Mickey popped.

That's great to hear. :)

Do we have any way to contact Asobo about this? I have no controllers, just a keyboard... Its a really painful bug. :[

use the same button as jump, it's the wave button on this level, I assume there is no difference between controller or keyboard.

There is actually quite a difference. When you click click F (wave) it does nothing. I have nothing but a keyboard. :<

I've sent an e-mail to Asobo Studio's support. Here's what they answered:

"Thanks for reaching out to us. Unfortunately, the development stopped a few years ago so there won't be any further update for the game. Using a gamepad remains the best option to unlock the achievement."

Which is in fact "unfortunately"... even with gamepad I had no luck yet.

I myself only have a keyboard too, and there's no hope for getting two players on PC, so unlocking every achievement for me is hopeless :steamsad:

I had a dream of asking them to fix this, they said no even in my dream :steamsalty:

I FIGURED OUT A SOLUTION!
I got the steam link app on my iPad, probably works on iPhones too. The game launches as if I had a controller. I played the sequence on my iPad and clicked the wave button and there it was, the hidden mickey. There we go, it only too me a year and 3 months to get.

Bit late to the party but I also have a solution that works. What you want to do is make sure to use a controller (plug a PS or Xbox controller into your computer). Mash the x button AND wiggle the control stick back and forth at the same time. It may take a few tries but it will work eventually. You could try mashing the wave button on the keyboard and moving yourself back and forth with the arrow keys at the same time and see if that works.

If you have issues with anything else, it's probably addressed in my guide:
