PC or switch version?
Any reason to pick it on one console vs another? I kinda like the idea of having it portable, but if the controls are worse or it runs badly i might not.

The Switch has the most advantages, as the game will run the same on any system you buy it on, but the Switch is both a handheld and a home console that should be running the game at 1080p when docked.

Doesn't really matter if you get it on PC or Consoles when performance is pretty much the same across the board.

I'd get it on Steam, then maybe you can refund it if you don't like it. I got it on PS4, and I'm regretting that I pretty much spent $15 for 20-30 minutes of gameplay before it became clear that this was a game I wasn't going to have the time or patience to beat.

If you're one of the "get gud" kids that does nothing but play games, you're probably safe, but if you aren't a metroidvania master, you may regret your purchase. Just my opinon.

Don't get the switch version. It has insane slowdown. Final boss runs at like 10 fps making it almost impossible to dodge. 5 or 6 areas have frame drops and multiple late game bosses have slowdowns. Talking to wayforward or nintendo has been a masterclass of buck passing and "haha got your money sucka"

I have no idea why a snes game runs like absolute garbage on the machine but it does and almost every reviewer mentions it. But they don't say how bad it gets late game.

I didn't know SNES games were on Switch.

On a more serious note, I assume you're just calling 2d games "SNES" games, in which case I haven't noticed this slowdown you're mentioning with other games.

And? People can still chime in so that people who read the thread with your same question can get help, too.

Glad you apparently got your answer.

Yeah I meant SNES style 2D platformers.

Odd because I also have Shantae 1/2 genie hero, which is from the same company.

That one is a fully hand drawn 1080p 2D platformer which should be more demanding and it performs flawlessly at 60fps.

The game assets are not 1080, at most 960x540, what difference does it make? it looks blocky at a big screen size

That was my point. It will look pretty much the same regardless of resolution, and the Switch is going to run it at a very standard resolution anyways.

Pixel art also tends to look pretty good on high-resolution, small screens because of the physical pixel density making them look smoother.
