Stella can self heal with a charged ability so she can heal back to full hp between each map's area and even during boss fights if the boss doesn't chase hard. Also great in groups for this reason in manic mode. One downside is that she has no ground right click ability since that is her way of changing stances between atk and support for some abilities of hers. In parties you will more likely be playing support role rather than up-front combat or at least some crowd control for your team.
Erwin has some advantages as he has long range skills so he can do dps even while at a distance. his basic atk combo is a bit lengthy in animation though and does not have as good CC effect for mobs close to his side as other characters do. He has a nice Evasion boosting passive skill that gives him a nice amount of survivability in some spots. One slight thing is that some of his skills have a long animation time as well, like the machinegun and the sniper rifle if you want to max its damage by charging, and his first ability's extension that adds an upwards diagonal shoooting barrage. has a partymove speed and SF regen buff
Haru is fairly straightforwardd, don't think she has any hard strengths or weaknesses and has a passive that adds damage as she makes long combos. She has some ranged skills and melee so she is a decent mix and also launches enemies up with her base right click so she comes with some built in cc from the start, has some good early skills that can be lvld that have decent damage and short animations so she can cast and keep moving. also, do NOT get her party atk buff, it only bufs the BASE attack damage that does NOT include weapon atk damage.
Lily is a crit based melee damage dealer and has good weapon range in her atks, making her basic atks good at crowd control as it is. Her right click is a dashing atk that phases through enemies so it can be used as an emergency dodge if you're good enough as you can even go through bosses with it. She gets bonus crit damage from her passive and even bonus crit chance if her soulforce gauge is at least 50% full (SF gauge is masically your MP bar) She can be high risk high reward as some of her skills are quick, and some have long animations, has a party crit buff. Another nice thing is that for some elite mobs (shielded ones) and even just normal mobs, you can keep moving at a right angle around them/stranfe them as you move with your normal attacks and hit them while doing so because of her weapon's lengthy reach.
it all depends on your playstyle. Currentlymy main is Lily because everyone knows that the only stats that matter are damage and more damage :3
If I had to pick one, Stella I guess?, you can heal yourself.
erwin's machinegun skill, the the one that gets more dps with atk speed, is great at breaking superarmor, as well as his napalm skill whch is his jump one, it has over 1k super armor break at lvl 1 which is pretty massive at that point in the game. his combos though, yeah they do not feel good at all. His 5x left click's final hit does a knockback tha tpushes enemies out of his normal atk range.... his 4x left 1x right does less dps than normal, it seems to be more of a cc skill due to its slightly wider range. his ex left 2x right isn't bad but the animation after the 2nd right is ugh... though you can use 2x left 1x right to go through bosses and get behind them if you're good enough even if the damage is questionable it can save you stamina and reposition for a skill but it has NO iframes so if you mess the timing you will get hit.
and yeah erwin scales hard with atk speed since atk spd also means more SF regen and it boosts the dps of the machinegun skill and also his very first skill, plus comes with that back-step skill that adds a non-iframe escape if need to recharge stamina but still fight
as for stella, i find that her jump atks do good damage and regen good SF as well. her skill that requires jumping also does pretty high damage and has a pretty fast activation/cast time. I use it often on bosses, especially if i know they're going to be slow. Jump, 3x left click, jump skill, 3x left click, 2x right click. you will more than regen the SF used in the jump skill
