Failed to create a D3D device!
I got an error "Failed to create a D3D device!" i tried everything but nothing worked! Plz help!

But it wasn't working all time! I watched every YouTube video about this but nothing i tried worked!

just had similar error, not only Alien Swarm gave it but any source engine game, other games didn't launch too. Dunno what was the reason but rebooting PC solved the issue. I've also run dxdiag and swarm in 1280x720 windowed mode before rebooting but those didn't help.

that error is relating to direct x direct 3d shell i think it is anyway make sure ur direct x is up to date and the runtime envirinment as well
