Nevermind, i will try one more floor and return back later.
In the room to the left of the door that doesn't open, there's a suspicious blank wall that, as noted, can't be hit with melee attacks. To the left of that, there's a button on the wall - more like a knob, really - that's hidden underneath a shelf next to the support on the left.
There's a bit more to actually get in to the room after that, but it should be fairly simple to figure out at that point.
