The game release date says Sept 1st 2017 but its Nov 17th 2017??? Why three months and no game?

The demo gives me the impression that this game would be really awesome but the game itslef does not start. After I walk up to the ship and am transported into the cabin I see a little ship that I can move to glowing green cyclinders of light. I do this then the screen goes black and I can hear the waves and wind of the Sea but everything is black and nothing ever happens. Anyone else seeing this ?...
