How do achievements work?

I've played 80 minutes of the game, both active and idle, and have reached the end of the story. But I'm still at 0 achievements. Others have reported they just pop up without even doing anything. What do I do to get them to start popping for me? Thanks

same here - also got a msg. one file was corrupt when downloading - did a repair, but no achieves - also the game is not running like it should - endless black screens when moving to a new picture - the only way is to push escape und back - then the nex pops up...

Having the same issue as mattBLiTZ. Had a friend report that he starting receiving acheivements about one second into playing.

same here, I just launched the game, pressed New game, achievements dropped in succession but stopped at 6664 achievements, tried finishing it, relaunching and leaving it for longer, to no avail

I personally can't unlock a single one, beat the game - no achievements, did numerous new games - no achievements. Guess it's broken at the moment.

Seems to just be completely broken for some of us. Not sure. Guess we will have to just wait and see if anything changes?

third "play" through they began to pop up - one by one without doing anything. You cant do anything else because it stop when you open another window or do something in Steam.

I think I managed to find a fix for people like me that can't get any achievements.
It will probably also fix it for you if it gets stuck somewhere in the middle, but you might have to start over again, idk, use it on your own risk.

Start regedit and navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BCHwaves, there, just delete the data.

And don't forget to delete the save files, as well. That brought me at least one more cheevo. I'm at 6664 cheevos now like MaitreVaati.

It really seems the the very first two achievements called
NEW_ACHIEVEMENT_NAME_1_0
NEW_ACHIEVEMENT_NAME_1_1
are really broken!

I just noticed that many of you are already at 6664 cheevos like me and always these two are missing!

These must be the first two seconds cheevos from the game. Could be helpful when the dev fix them!

They're not broken, but they are difficult to get.

So from what I can understand, when the game initializes for some reason sometimes the achievements don't start to pop, if you close the game and open it again eventually you will get a correctly initilized startup.

The only problem is that when testing whether or not achievements will pop, this will build up time on the "seconds counter" which is the trigger for achievements. So by the time you do manage to have the game work, it already has time saved in it.

You need to delete the reg key, an appdata folder, and the game installation itself to reset yourself to zero. then reinstall the game and try again. Obviously this can be annoying.

Doing the following I was able to get achievements to pop:

- Uninstalled game
- Deleted the data in regedit (navigate to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\BCHwaves)
- Deleted saves from AppData at C:\Users[Your Name]\AppData\LocalLow\BCHwaves
