I like games such as Limbo, Celeste...
borring boring
You will need to elaborate further as to why you found Horace boring if you wish your criticism to be taken seriously.
*wierdly weirdly
I agree and disagree.
The camera generally does an adequate job of never losing track of the player, and you rarely ever must perform leaps of faith to off-screen platforms.
If you are specifically criticizing how jarring the camera rotations are when jumping from floor to ceiling, then I agree.
You are wrong.
Most of the 42 tracks in the game were handcrafted by the sole developer to enhance the mood of each set-piece and cutscene without being melodramatic.
e.g. this track plays during an early segment where the player watches a shy robot learn to walk by following his kindly creator's instructions.
*tragicly tragically
*dont don't
Horace's ambitious plot is packed with clever writing and genuinely surprising twists. The span and scope of the plot is epic. It isn't perfect, as it does sometimes start threads that don't go anywhere, but I feel that Horace's story is its strongest selling point.
(The game really is huge. I feel safe using the word 'epic' without feeling like I am abusing the word.)
*Why you like in this game?
*Why do you like this game?
*What do you like in this game?
I am not sure which of these two questions you intended to ask.
I will put this in different words
1. Story:
Story is for kids. No good storytelling, no emotions. It is flat.
Way how story is told is just buch of cutscens that are propably prerecorded thats why this platformer takes 12 gb of your drive. I guess more than half of this game is not game but video or cutscens.
Presented plot of events dont contain ermotrional load that will touch me on the inside. This game is plain forgetable. When you finish it you dont remeber where it started, what was beggining... Its like watching brazilian telenovele
I rather read 20th time Hobbit to have good fun laught and tears than play this cr*p.
2. Platformer part:
Level desing is completly lazy. I played such platformers 30 years ago on c64.
Platformer part is eazy, lazy, stiupid. No effor was put in this. There are no interesting mechanics, no smart design.
3. Player reviews
you mean those 150 reviews? If people love this game then why they dont advertise it to itself and do not buy? 150 I can purchase this 150 times and put 150 negative reviews ... its that easy
4. Advice
play games such as
- Celeste
- Limbo
- To The Moon
Then return and ask questions
DO NOT BUY HORACE
play games such as
- Celeste
- Limbo
- To The Moon"
Yeah let me just smack you with reality. Celeste is NOT a good game. It's a bad wanna be Super Meat Boy with characters I don't care about. Game sucks
Limbo is the most boring game I've ever played. Ending is even worse. No point to ever play that game.
To the moon... THIS IS NOT EVEN A GAME It's literally just watching a BAD never ending cut scene and reading. People who think this is a game have ZERO cred in talking about what a "good game " is. You sir are fool
This game is amazing in every way. It's charming and the platforming is some of the best I've ever seen!! PERIOD. It's a 9.5 in my book and I know I have better taste than you. Away now troll... no one cares.
Nice to know that you in those 150 people on the world that loved this game and hated the other games I mentioned you have never ever played. And Im a troll pointing you to better purchases than this lazy executed pseudo cutscene platformer witch cheap robot story.
It is not about taste but overall game design, writting, execution, love of developer. Some developers love to make games some others love money and think it is easy to make game and become rich. I guess developer of this pile of c... was wrong. He first need to love make games to make such diamond as
Celeste
Limbo
To The Moon
No one cares about Horace. In this point you right.
Diamonds? haha Outside a small niche group of Steam people, NO ONE HAS HEARD OF "TO THE MOON" Limbo was a huge "really? This is paid for hype.. meh" and Celeste isn't good. Just a Super Meat Boy Rip off. Maybe a 1000000000000th clone of "I wanna be the guy"
Keep ranting, keep raving, keep getting upset why I laugh at you. This game will start as a slow burn and then hopefully explode into a fire. You sir have no taste, no experience, and are there fore invalid. Everything you say is pointless. You've lost. I've dismantled and unraveled your ridiculous behavior. You shall no longer be addressed or tolerated. Just like that I have i erased you. Tee hee. I'm the winner! And in 3....2....1....... you are gone! BOOM!
Horace rules. You suck. HHAHHA
Ma che ne sanno i bimbiminkia
He doesnt even own the game
Refunded this Cr*p
I'm not sure what you're talking about when you say the story has no emotion. The story is wonderful, full of emotion, full of jokes, and even has its twists. Are you only saying that it's not "full of emotion" because of the unreliable narrator, a.k.a. you, Horace, and emotionless robot who knows next to nothing about the world and learns as he goes along? It's almost as if you're watching any typical episode of Star Trek: The Next Generation, but the entire episode narrated by Data. The game is full of emotion and humor; it's just not in the narrator's voice.
The design is pretty cool so far, too. It's genuinely challenging at times, but the mechanics are great and it feels good to stick with it and best each room.
This game is utterly unique and has been a joy so far. I honestly can't wait to learn more about its world and play my way through it. Really encouraged to hear that it's of an "epic" length.
