Always Online DRM?

I'm at work, with a spotty internet connection thanks to ISP difficulties, but I can't even run through the tutorial. I get disconnect messages and get told to "Sign in through steam".

Putting steam in offline mode will allow you to play the tutorial and single player games.

No problem. Ive been having fun with it since early March on iPad testflight. It is a very complex game for a mere tutorial, it's definitly beneficial to read the official board game rules pdf and maybe even watch a playthough but I understand a lot of players don't have the time for that.
