Art Questions - To ebihime
This isn't really related to this VN in particular (though the art is indeed stellar), but a couple of questions I have as someone interested in making their own VNs.

First, how do you go about finding an artist? Do you just look on DeviantArt or some other public place?

Second, how much does an artist cost? I realize this might be a private concern, and I realize that it's obviously heavily dependent on the size of the VN and the diversity of environments/characters, but if the first clause isn't a concern, can you give any generalities as to cost?

Thanks for any time you give to this.

Hi,

It's fine if you want to ask me questions, but it might be easier if you asked me the question on my tumblr (http://ebi-hime.tumblr.com/) or ask.fm account (https://ask.fm/ebihime) since I check these more frequently than my Steam store pages.

For artists, you can either look around on Deviantart (searching 'anime commission' can find a lot of people willing to do commissions) or you can look at the artist recruitment thread on lemmasoft: https://lemmasoft.renai.us/forums/viewforum.php?f=62

Lemmasoft might be better than DA to look for VN artists, since all the artists making threads on lemma know what VNs are and how to draw VN-style sprites. People on DA might not realise the sprites need multiple outfits/expressions, and might not be ready to take on such a large amount of work (making multiple art pieces for a VN is more of a time commitment than making a single piece for a 'normal' commission).

As for price, it depends on how much experience the artist in question has, how well-known they are, and whether they draw for a living or not. You can find some people who do commissions as a hobby and have relatively low rates, but they might be pretty slow finishing anything. If you ask somebody who takes commissions for a living, their rates will be much higher, but they'll probably finish everything faster.

For a single VN sprite, prices generally range between $30-$100 depending on complexity, but I wouldn't be surprised if people out there charge more than that.

Steam seems to have deleted those links, but I'm sure I can find you there if I have any more questions.

But thank you very much for answering these ones! I appreciate it.
