Starting New Campaign Problem on Linux
I cannot start a new game, unless using lowest graphic setting. It gets to the Loading screen (connecting) and the window screen hangs. The mouse pointer will move, but that's about it. I have to do a hard power off to resolve.

It does work correctly with graphic settings turned down to the lowest setting. Even using a windowed, low res, medium setting will cause the problem.

I downloaded the debug build but it did not generate any save files to send, when it crashes on creating a new campaign. I tried running it from the command line, and I didn't see any messages.

Running ubuntu linux 16.04.4 with radeon mesa drivers, with a RX550 amd card.

Exactly same behavior with Radeon RX 580 on Kernel 4.19.2 / Mesa 18.2.4 .
Start campain, cursor freezes --> complete Screenfreeze (even worse: Keyboard LEDs like Numblock, Shift lock are dead). System still works when SSHing into it. Journalctl says we deal with a ... "kernel: [drm:amdgpu_job_timedout [amdgpu]] *ERROR* ring gfx timeout, signaled seq=43124, emitted seq=43126" - which means its an issue with amdgpu.

Even knowing that this a driver issue - I wonder what is causing it from this game? Any dev reading this? Could help filing a bug at Mesa...

Note that this is not happening on a mobile Ryzen 5 2500U with Radeon Vega Mobile Gfx (also amdgpu driver on Mesa - same version).

Same issue as previous posters. Using a rx 560, ryzen 5 1600.
Tried on different mesa versions over the time, never was able to run the game (from 18.1.X to 18.3) always crashes after trying to start a campaign, freezing the whole pc.
edit: Oh well, haven't tested it in a few months already, but now it freezes my pc when I even run the game, it doesn't even show the menu like it previously did.

Hi all - please send me a crash report as detailed here:
https://steamcommunity.com/app/628290/discussions/1/1470841715948140417/

The linux location can be a bit hard to find. I think it should be in your home folder maybe. Look for a folder called 'projectdisco' somewhere

I would love to, but the only file it creates in the CrashReportClient (.config/Epic/ProjectDisco/Saved/Config/CrashReportClient) is a CrashReportClient.ini file with this in it:
[CrashReportClient]
bHideLogFilesOption=false
bIsAllowedToCloseWithoutSending=true
CrashConfigPurgeDays=2

@NuSuey, do you have any other folders in 'saved'? eg:
.config/Epic/ProjectDisco/Saved/Crashes
or
.config/Epic/ProjectDisco/Saved/Logs

Sadly, in the Saved folder I only have SaveGames with the savefile and a Config directory with CrashReportClient (where a new directory is created each crash with just an ini file) for example "UE4CC-Linux-0002710A08D66B0043CB19920759791D" and LinuxNoEditor with ini files that have 1 byte.

So, while I can't say what fixed it (my wild guess is on Mesa) but I'm using LLVM 8.0, Mesa 19.0.0-devel (git-4a131a1330) and the game doesn't freeze my pc anymore.
Also another game that previously did freeze my pc (was also a Unreal Engine game) doesn't do that anymore!
