Report a translation problem
Just emulate the ps2 rom until/if they release the patch bruh. It's all we've got.
Yeah, that is a problem. I figured out how to totally get past the graphical glitches years ago, but my old computer died, and I lost the settings. I've got the game to run in a playable state now, but one of the colors is a bright lime green instead of black, but all the text is readable, and every other color is what it should be, so it's fine by me.
I run it off the pcsx2 v. 1.2.1. The reason why I use that one, is I use the graphics drivers from the 1.0.0 release. For some reason, those drivers didn't show up with the current 1.4.0 release. Copy and paste the GSdx 5334 graphics drivers from the 1.0.0 release, to the driver directory in the 1.2.1 version, and pick one of them in the emulation settings menu. I'm pretty sure any of the 5334 drivers will work. There was some tweak that totally fixed it. I don't know if it was choosing software over hardware emulation, or openGL instead of Direct3d, etc. There might have been a different anti-alias setting I used, I'm not too sure. But if you fool around with those, you might get it to work flawlessly. At the very least, even with the annoying lime green colors I'm dealing with right now, it's still very playable. It's annoying at first, but I can at least play my favorite RTK game again.
If you or anyone else has any other questions about getting it running, or has figured out the tweaks needed to get the game to work fine, feel free to message me (especially if you figured out the settings to get it to work fine! :)).
edit: Nevermind! I just figured it out! Like I said, select the GSdx 5334 series of drivers. You can set it up in the Plugin/BIOS Selector under the Config tab. I used the one at the bottom of the list that ended with [gsdx32-ssse3-r5350]. After that, I went back to the config tab again, highlighted Video (GS), and clicked Plugin Settings. I changed the top option (renderer) to Direct3D11 (software), and it runs flawlessly. :DDDDDDD
I should also mention, the best thing about this emulator, is you can hit the tab key, and it will run it double speed. Which is great, because the slowdown is murder late game during the action phase, when the AI is moving around tons of units.
I've always wanted to play 9 with the PUK. I'd buy this in an instant if it had english language support.
But this was over 10+ years ago.
I doubt they're going to translate it. It's one thing for them to patch a recent game. It's another thing for them to translate a game that's over a decade old. Plus, the RoTK series is pretty niche. How many people would honestly pay $30 for a game that is freaking OLD. Tecmo Koei just released the games as a sort of "thanks Kou!" thing. It's just a gesture. They're not looking to actually make money off the old releases. I mean, they'd be stupid to think they would given what they priced the games at.
I'm just saying they're likely not going to waste the money translating it, to try and pick up what? Maybe 500 sales? It's way overpriced considering how old the game is. Only the die-hard english fans would buy it, and there's not many of us. Hell, even RTK 11 w/PUK is $40usd. Yet I can buy the english version (without the PUK) for $20 elsewhere!!!
Tecmo Koei is just absolutely horrible when it comes to pricing their games on PC. Once the sales are over for the Attack On Titan games, the first one is going right back up to about $60. Despite the fact that AoT:2 just came out. At full price, they're basically the same! Their management seems to be comprised mostly of fossils that don't understand that a game's value depreciates over time. Yet they keep overcharging for titles that aren't selling much. A price drop here and there could go a long way. Yet like I said with RTK 11, they're charging double for an untranslated version of the game with some lame attempt at an expansion pack.
If they're not even going to grasp that simple concept, I highly doubt they'll even attempt any kind of translations for the RoTK games. We're honestly just better off emulating the games.
Back to the main point though I do agree they are not going to spend the money translating. It sucks since 6-11 all have english versions available to rip the text off of and make it a simple process. The only thing they really have to translate is the PUK but I agree that $40 is WAY to high for a game that came out on the PS2. Still I just tend to forget about KT's releases at this point. I like seeing them, but then I'll ignore them for a few years until I see they finally hit 50% off (since they RARELY go lower than that) the only game they've released lately that I'm excited for and MIGHT get full price is Warriors Orochi 4 but even then I'll probably go through GMG to get it cheaper.
